I want to say mine did that three times before it finally took
I did on my 22’.I tried it for two hours and a couple dozen times.
Interesting thing is, I don't remember having to repeatedly push and release the unlock button on my 2023 fob to program.
Update, both brand new Ram OEM and brand new aftermarket fobs, neither will program. So, interesting finding.
Just purchased a brand new 2024 this evening. Used one of the spare, brand new fobs I purchased for my 2023, when activating remote start, pulling pin and programming new fobs.
It absolutely positively won't program, I also tried an OEM non-remote start fob from my 2023 that I still have. Wouldn't program, either.
Pulls the pin, no problems.

Right, the PASE mode is for trucks with push button start. Which mine is.I did on my 22’.
Im not 100% sure but it looks like you were trying to program it for passive entry.

Okay cause and Affect. After 4 failed program attempts with the used locked fobs, it locked the RFH.
Used AlfaOBD to reset RFH to pull down programming from BCM, fobs immediately programmed.
Did you drive the vehicle and get it up to 35mph? You have to drive it after all is installed and added with via Jscan.Hi guys!
Just add new key by dealer. Activate remote start, hood lock sensor in the JScan with 12-8 bypass cable, go around with speed approx 60kph grounded 11 pin to the body with 1kOhm resistor — so instead of remote start, after pressing start button on the fob track just beep once and flash all turn lights one :-( What could be wrong?
Remote opening tailgate is working good
How much time I need to hold this speed? I just reach 40+ and return back to home. Or I need to travel some time with this speed?Did you drive the vehicle and get it up to 35mph? You have to drive it after all is installed and added with via Jscan.

Just regular message like Press brake to start engine. When you open the door what does the Evic say as it should say why remote start did not work
Yes, I pressing twice on tithe key fob remote start button and truck just blink once with turn lights and beep horn once.Did you press the remote start button twice? Also if there is any code or CEL it will not work. Scan the truck to make sure it has no hidden codes. Does your truck have the switch on the hood latch?
Did you activate the hood switch?
Do you have an ohm meter so you can check the resistor for continuity ? You might go back and check your connections. It sounds like you have the programming right. Mine sounds the horn and blinks the lights twice. I’m new to this programming stuff myself.Yes, I pressing twice on tithe key fob remote start button and truck just blink once with turn lights and beep horn once.
Found no stored or active fault codes
I don’t have hood latch, I installed 1kOhm resistor on 11 pin and grounded it to the frame.
Yes, I activated hood latch in JScan
I have no idea what’s wrong and what I should check again :-(
Looks like I managed it!Do you have an ohm meter so you can check the resistor for continuity ? You might go back and check your connections. It sounds like you have the programming right. Mine sounds the horn and blinks the lights twice. I’m new to this programming stuff myself.
Make sure the truck is locked before trying to start?
That’s great! Glad you got it figured out.Looks like I managed it!
I just travel with speed above 35mph and now it works with two beeps! Looks like it not enough just to reach this speed, you need exactly travel some time with it.
Thanks a lot for all your replying![]()
So i have a 2024 Ram Tradesman 2500. Trying to make sure i have the correct wire to ground for remote start. All i have though for a connector is the a black connector. Just in front of the Fuse box. No gray. It matches the one in the pictures. Is this the correct connector? I don't see another option in front? any help is appreciatedAwesome! Thank you for the detailed explanation. I don't have the equipment to change the configuration, so I will add the resistor.
