Remote start added to 2020 Tradesman (SOLVED)

I want to say mine did that three times before it finally took

I tried it for two hours and a couple dozen times.

Interesting thing is, I don't remember having to repeatedly push and release the unlock button on my 2023 fob to program.

I did on my 22’.
Im not 100% sure but it looks like you were trying to program it for passive entry.

So, interesting finding.

Just purchased a brand new 2024 this evening. Used one of the spare, brand new fobs I purchased for my 2023, when activating remote start, pulling pin and programming new fobs.

It absolutely positively won't program, I also tried an OEM non-remote start fob from my 2023 that I still have. Wouldn't program, either.

Pulls the pin, no problems.

Update, both brand new Ram OEM and brand new aftermarket fobs, neither will program.

Right, the PASE mode is for trucks with push button start. Which mine is.

After getting the correct Fobs, mine programmed the first time, no problems. 2024 3500. Do you have the bypass cable

Okay cause and Affect. After 4 failed program attempts with the used locked fobs, it locked the RFH.

Used AlfaOBD to reset RFH to pull down programming from BCM, fobs immediately programmed.

Just a follow-up on this, I originally used the $30 Amazon / Ebay fob, seen here:

After a week with it, the buttons became so sensitive that it was randomly dropping the tailgate and setting the panic alarm off, while sitting on the counter at home or in my desk at work.

The OEM Mopar number is: #68575429AA, it's available from the Mopar e-store for $64, a little over two times the cost of the junk chinese fobs. Save yourself a little headache and order the oem fob.

Hi guys!
Just add new key by dealer. Activate remote start, hood lock sensor in the JScan with 12-8 bypass cable, go around with speed approx 60kph grounded 11 pin to the body with 1kOhm resistor — so instead of remote start, after pressing start button on the fob track just beep once and flash all turn lights one :-( What could be wrong?
Remote opening tailgate is working good

Did you drive the vehicle and get it up to 35mph? You have to drive it after all is installed and added with via Jscan.

How much time I need to hold this speed? I just reach 40+ and return back to home. Or I need to travel some time with this speed?

When you open the door what does the Evic say as it should say why remote start did not work

Did you press the remote start button twice? Also if there is any code or CEL it will not work. Scan the truck to make sure it has no hidden codes. Does your truck have the switch on the hood latch?
Did you activate the hood switch?

Yes, I pressing twice on tithe key fob remote start button and truck just blink once with turn lights and beep horn once.
Found no stored or active fault codes
I don’t have hood latch, I installed 1kOhm resistor on 11 pin and grounded it to the frame.
Yes, I activated hood latch in JScan

I have no idea what’s wrong and what I should check again :-(

Do you have an ohm meter so you can check the resistor for continuity ? You might go back and check your connections. It sounds like you have the programming right. Mine sounds the horn and blinks the lights twice. I’m new to this programming stuff myself.
Make sure the truck is locked before trying to start?

Looks like I managed it!
I just travel with speed above 35mph and now it works with two beeps! Looks like it not enough just to reach this speed, you need exactly travel some time with it.

Thanks a lot for all your replying :-)

That’s great! Glad you got it figured out.

By the way, I heard that with remote start some trucks can auto turn on maximum heater or ac, depending on outside temperature. Anyone know how to activate it? Or it is possible only on trucks with climate control, not with manual ac?

With manual a/c it turns it on to whatever it was set on when it was stopped but the a/c does work even before you push the start button on the dash.

Edit:
With the manual a/c it does infact turn either the a/c or heater on to max depending on hot or cold automatically.

Awesome! Thank you for the detailed explanation. I don't have the equipment to change the configuration, so I will add the resistor.
So i have a 2024 Ram Tradesman 2500. Trying to make sure i have the correct wire to ground for remote start. All i have though for a connector is the a black connector. Just in front of the Fuse box. No gray. It matches the one in the pictures. Is this the correct connector? I don't see another option in front? any help is appreciated
