Regens at alarming rate!

My truck is the same as yours here in Northern California. I also get my 24hr regen with 850 miles on average in between active regens. The only exception, I use no additives to make my truck run right. Knock on wood, I never had an issue(s) that are described on this site. Unless you’re experiencing an isssue. Just drive the truck.

Without using fuel additives my truck will not go 24 hours between regens, without it, it would see 320-375 miles between regens, had one it only made it 220 miles, so I will keep on using a fuel additive that allows my truck to go 24 hr between regens...

I wonder if any of this has to do with the fuel ? It would be a lot easier to figure out some of these issues if fuel stations had recirculating filters on the diesel.

I did this procedure right after a regen. I was at about 41%. I did this procedure to the letter and had good results. By the second run, my soot was up to 42% and stopped. The third run stayed at 42%. I have 550 miles so far on my interval. Point is, half assed effort is half assed results. Find a better stretch of hwy at a quiet time of day, ie, head north to wasilla, that is non stop, and pick a sunday when it's not busy. PS I live there for many years.

You may have a bad dpf, idk. The bore scope needed to look inside the canisters are not cheap, they need to be small, like 7mm. IF your DPF is face plugged, nothing is going to fix it.

Here is what we saw after removing the DPF filter from the truck last night. The truck was flooded before and I think the rusted parts shows the water level.

Ah, this might be your issue. I also see you can put in a new DPF yourself. I have no idea how much those are, but you'll save money installing a new DPF yourself.

I bought a used one on marketplace and installed instead of mine. I am getting exactly the same result. It went to regen after 100 miles or so.

Yes! It's in those instructions for doing a parked regen, it is the step that says "DPF Replacement" in Alfaobd, that clears any codes and the timers.

Then you should do the MAF relearn procedure, AGAIN, TO THE LETTER!

Or you can drive it for a long time, it will eventually "relearn".
