Price negotiated from MSRP

How the heck did you get that good of a deal? What was all included in that if I may ask?
Sorry, I thought I was replying to you so look elsewhere in this area for my explanation as to my price. The truck has the following:
Granite Chrystal, HO/Aisun, Laramie group 2 pkg, tow tech group, safety group, 5th wheel prep, center console, 12 inch Uconnect, block heater,
Power running boards, LED bed lites and sport pkg (colored bumpers).

Thats an awesome deal. Sounds like an awesome rig. I get the same thing allot, how did you get such a good deal. I just tell em that you can't cave or be willing to settle. I went into it with the attitude that it takes as long as it takes to get this much truck for this price tag an eventually, it will happen if you persist. I also tell my sales men the same thing. Of coarse there always like we just can't do that much truck for the price point you want to be at. But when you walk away, they will call you asking you if you've changed your mind a couple times an when they realize your not an impulsive buyer they start negotiating. Thats when you know you have the power. Thats If there a dealership that wants to make a sale. By all means, not all car lots wan't to make sales, but i dont have any problem what so ever not giving those dealerships my buisness an working with a company that wants to actually make a deal.

Yes, but I didn't have to do any of that! Like I said, that price was what any Tom Dick or Harry could have walked in and got if they had access to their website!
It was the advertised price! Right there for all to see! I had been looking and talking to Dave Smith and Dennis Dillon for 6 months and these prices at Salt Lake Valley
Ram had been up about a week before I managed to get deposit made. The rest, as they say, is history! I about was blind from so much web-surfing! :D

That was me exactly, car gurus every day. I swear we know more about these things than the dealers do. I also got all the incentives an rebates plus I got a couple extra because I saw ( of coarse online) like sams, penfed an there was another one i got another 500 off for. Like the pen fed I got a1000 rebate for being a member, wich is a military bank just like usaa , but I'm not in the military. Pen feds rules state you make them a $5 dollar donation you can join as a non military member. Then botaboom botabing print out my $1000 off coupon code. I love the web, oh by the way, my build model is a 20 ram Laramie cc 4x4 drw ho hd aisin billet silver with max tow pkg , sport pkg, tech pkg, safety pkg, cold group, skid plate, l2 pkg, bucket seats, 12 inch infotainment, aux switches, sun roof, side steps. There might be something I'm missing. I believe ill love her.

Msrp $75,000 and bought for $62,000 before TTL. Had to travel to Utah to find the exact truck I wanted, dealers here wouldn’t go out that far for a dealer trade. I will say California takes you over the coals when it comes to TTL.
What dealership did you use?
Thanks :-)

Thats 17% great deal. I was heading toward California when a dealer in Arkansas made me a deal I couldn't refuse. So I " SUGGESTED". To my wife we change or plans an turn around as there is a deal to good to pass up. Long story short, she was not happy buttttttttttttt, were now in Arkansas for 3 months while my truck is being built. Hehehehe

I would say that was a good deal. Was it hard finding a 2wd? Seems they are very few and far between.

I wanted a 4x4 for what I plan to use it for, but all the 4x4's around here with this tranny and motor were creeping near the 62K-64K price (after rebates) and I just could not justify the price difference. This was the lowest I could find with this setup. It was advertised on their site (I beat them up a little on the web pricing as well)

Holy mackerel, that's 26% off msrp, I've never heard of such a great deal, you stole that thing

Quick question. Do all dealers pay the same price for their vehicles?

Quick question. Do all dealers pay the same price for their vehicles?

That question could be answered a few ways. I don't have a ton of experience with FCA (someone who works for a dealer, feel free to chime in), but my experience with dealers in general is as follows:
  • In a vacuum, with all things (e.g. model, trim, options) being equal, the dealer is going to pay Ram essentially the exact same price for a specific truck; this number is NOT invoice. I'm ignoring what they're paying for their lot and marketing fees. But,
  • This doesn't consider the dealer's business model, overhead, volume, etc. Again I'm ignoring a ton of small factors, but here are some hypotheticals:
    • Dealer A may sell so many trucks each month that their bonus from FCA for the month allows them to offer deeper discounts (in some cases even below EP numbers), this, in effect offsets the price they "paid" for the vehicle up front at the end of the month/quarter/trimester/however FCA decides to run their model.
    • Dealer B may sell very few trucks and aren't able to compete financially with Dealer A on pricing up front. They make money by not dipping into their holdback, making money in the finance office (forcing protection packages, their own financing, etc.), or by other means entirely (they may focus entirely on their service department).
    • Looking at these two hypothetical dealers, each dealer's sales price to cover for each piece of stock (even if they're the exact same truck) is very different.
Typically no salesman will be aware of every bit of their dealership's financials. VERY few folks in a the dealership are. Usually the owner (if they don't have 15 other brands they sell), finance manager and GM will have a clue. Any good dealer will know, exactly what they can sell each vehicle for and still turn a profit, but that's getting into a business finance discussion.

Got some limiteds in the area with advertised 89k msrp, 78k advertised sale price. Seems not all dealers are forthcoming with the sams club and penn fed rebates. Do these only apply to high volume dealers?

Is that really all penn fed requires? once printed, how long is the coupon good for? Looking at dillons web site, appears sams club coupon is good too. I am a sams member and guess I am unaware how to go about getting that coupon as well. Any tips WILL BE USED against the dealer! LOL!

Ok, here's the skinny. You can only do one or the other because there both through true car an you can only use I true car coupon code. Pen fed is 1000 an Sam's is 500. You have to go on the web sites an print them out. I wish I could tell you how to do it but just like other rebates, they don't make it easy. My wife an I worked on the pen fed one for about 30 minutes of just clicking on different things but eventually stumbled upon it. But 30 minutes for a G ain't to bad. Sam's was allot easier to do online but at the time I didn't know that you could only use one from true car. There's both good until early 2021 not sure of exact month. If you served in the military or a close reflective has served you can get into pen fed that way. There's also a loop hole that says people not from the military can become members by simply making a $5 dollar donation online. Yes 5 Not 500. The 5 goes into your acct that you have to open. Then after a few days you will be able to get acct info to get you started. I did mine about 9 months ago an used it 1 month ago, just because I had decided to wait for 2020s.

thanks for the info!

There's allot there to unpack an it's not easy so you can just do in a hurry but if you have some time before you make the deal, its worth it

Penfed membership done, apparently it says 60 day wait? we'll see. Anyway, since rebates change next week, I can wait for more to come via memorial day.,etc. Really liking the longhorn brown and tan, so will probably have to order that anyway. Still scouring the net for leftover 19 somewhere. But really pumped about buying current model year exactly as I want it, or who knows.....2021.

That is what exactly happened to me also . Went in to do a19 build an the more research I did of what was coming in 20 is what made me decide to wait. I don't think pen fed took that long, but some good news is for your time frame. This is how it's worked with my dealer, I told him about the pen fed discount an he looked it up to confirm. So when he saw it was legit, he then worked it into the deal. The deal is not final until the vehicle comes in, that's when you present your pen fed coupon code, do financing, etc, So if you do a build model, then your a couple months out anyway before you would need that code. At leastthat's how my dealer said were doing it. But CONGRATS, you just saved a G.
