Price negotiated from MSRP

Hahaha, man o man you are jacked up Boz. I've been there with you , the whole internet experience has kind of been a joke. It takes forever for them to get back with you because of ( real customers). In saying that, I'm like you, if you just walk into a dealership an try to make a deal, your gonna get screwed big time. If I had a life, I would of really gotten P. O . ed at how long the process has taken. But I looked everywhere an it was like, I can order one for around 83k an it will be my perfect rig or keep looking at all these on the lots that don't have what I want for not to much less. So I'm definitely happy with my decision to build but I also haven't gotten it yet either. Im just hoping it don't come damaged, I can't deal with that. Thats an insult when they say, we took 8,000 off the top, woooo. This process really works out for those with time on there hands, not for those living the grind. I look at all the specs on ram, ford, an gm, an there all insane. Imo, Chevy is nice but w/O Allison there nothing. Im a dodge ram Cummins mopar guy so that's what I believe in, there just TOUGH an are top notch all around. Now I'll be honest, I hate ford, would never own one but the specs there putting out are pretty crazy. I just dont believe there at all durable. But we all have a$$ holes an some of us are a$$ holes but we all have different opinions that we could go back an forth with for eternity. Bottom line is, ram rocks it an heavy Chevy are aaaa itteee an ford and salesman just suck. I can't let you test drive a ford man, I'm here for you, don't do it, come back to us, your gonna be ok!
Ah, I ain’t leaving Dodge now, remember, I have a 2001 3500, the 17 2500, and many others in between. I just need to drive a Ford to prove how much I love dodge. I am not impressed with the plastic interior of the fords and it has been quite a few years since I owned a ford oil burner(let the jokes begin). Too many ford diesel revisions over the years, not too many good ones. Ram hit it out of the park with their interiors this go around......and they know it. By the way, I could never let anyone see me driving a Chevrolet. LOL! I have half a mind to go to the dealers to test drive with my trailer to do a proper test:)! I am self employed/retired just waiting little over a year for the little lady to retire to start chasing better weather. My most local dealer doesn’t have cookies or donuts.

You all sound like us. We're retired an chase the sun in our RV. Glad I could do my part to help pull you of the blue oval ledge.

My justification to the mrs. about the new truck: “We can look at 5ers but if we find the ☝️, we won’t be able to bring it home until we have the truck:). Can’t get the cart before the horse.

thats exactly us. We currently have a 16 ram 6.7 2500 that we pull a 13k 35 ft fiver but were wanting to get the big daddy fiver ,44-48 ft at 26k. So the wife said you pick the truck that can haul it an ill pick the house. So I thought that was a good compromise. Told her when this one is built we will be able to haul anything that she picks out. I drove a truck for 25yrs so the length an weight don't bother me, like it does most. She actually sold me on the idea, how sweet is that.

Yes, I was a Truck driver too, not for 25 but 7 years until a back surgery , after the suevery, never got back to it. I do keep my CDL current, just in case I might want to do a part time gig or something.

I drove for 25 then my back went out so I managed 70 guys for 3 yrs an the stress broke me down an I got krohns. I could no longer get a valid medical card so the state of S.D said I couldn't keep my cdl if I could not obtain a valid med card within so many days so there went my cdl. That was hard to stomach but if your not healthy anymore, than I guess you don't need it. S.D law is also one of those states you don't need a cdl to drive a non commercial recreational vehicle that's over 25,999. So we try to make the best of life for the cards we've been dealt. Some people don't get time to retire together, so this is ours. Allot of personal there I know.

Well holy mackerel. Just got another update. They said I'm currently in JS status, wich she said means it awaiting inspections before it gets an eta for shipment. I've read that this stage is like prison, but i hope they go over it, an overit, an over it again. I can't believe that in 1 wk they built that custom truck, it's not like it's a ugo or Saturn or to you younger guys an galls a prius. Thats insane.

When I ask about what status code i am at, the rep tells me that they dont give out codes. any tips to get them? Mine is currently sitting at parts gathered to be scheduled,

I was just informed from the dealer I got my 17 2500 from, that they were still waiting on the recalls to be finished in the next week or two before ordering more? Makes sense if FCA is actually fixing existing customers before adding new ones.

Ok here's what I have learned in the last 3wks. When you do the chat they won't tell me a stage level but they give me an explanation. When I go to the page were you can click on chat, email or call, I'll actually call once a wk an this is were they give me a code every time so far with an explanation.

Discounts on an ordered truck? I have 2020 2500 on order. out of Pittsburg. I contacted many dealers and ordered from the one discounting the most. Total was only about 8% off msrp. Plus any rebates when truck comes in should be end March/first April.
I have a usaa $1k coupon that expires 3/20. Hopefully there is a new one after that date.
I did inquire with Dave s in Idaho they would do $1k below invoice to order. But that’s almost the same deal I got local.

what Kind of luck is everyone having ordering? I see/hear 2019 HDs going for 20% off msrp.

Yep - Beware of Dave's. They quoted me a good price also. When it came time to do the deal they said, "we can't sell it for that quoted price." Their now price was no better than any local dealer.
A bait and switch outfit for sure!

o_O Thanks for your post. I never thought to check USAA for a coupon. I had been trying to get one through PenFed but had only just joined after hearing about it. Since I had already joined USAA some time ago just to look at insurance rates and auto loan rates, I was a member long enough to get the coupon!

Since I'm not getting any other rebates beyond the 11% off MSRP I negotiated, this helps soften the blow.

Rich,
Much thanks for the PenFed info. I joined today, paid my 5 bucks and now wait for 60days to get the 1000.00 certificate.
Hopefully, my truck will not arrive before then.
Again, much appreciated

Thanks to another member's recent post, I found that USAA had the same $1K incentive. I'm a bonehead for not looking before, especially considering I have a pre-approved loan from USAA.

FYI, these don't cost the dealer anything AFAIK, they go into dealer connect as a FCA incentive on the sale.

I can also save .5% on the USAA loan by "going through their car buying service" which is just a lead generation through TrueCar. I'm uncertain if that's going to cost the dealer money or create heartburn as I've already basically cut a deal for the order. Yea, I know I can walk away but then the dealer has no obligation to give me the same deal. The sales GM I'm working with has also been, to my knowledge, very straight with me and I'm happy with the 11% off I got (plus the $1K now).

That said, .5% on a 3.5% loan is a nice

I was able to get 16% off of msrp an didn't settle on trade either. I made them give me just above perfect condition max trade value an just below retail. I'm real happy. I feal like they have been honest an didn't make to much off of me. Also for everybody to remember. On all the extra discounts that go through true car like pen fed, usaa, and our Sam's club, true car will only allow you just one coupon code so pick one of the biggies.

Big delta between 2019 leftovers and 2020 factory orders.

When posting discounts, please leave out your taxes, title, reg, and rebates/incentives. It doesn't provide a baseline reference for true discount.

MSRP $86,820
DEAL $77,294
Discount = 11.0%

No trade.

I got invoice - full holdback. I probably could have pressed for an extra $500 or gotten some add-ons but the dealer that gave me the best deal was upfront and easy to work with, the others were not willing to deal. In the end, time is money and my time is worth something to me. I can spend time haggling and dragging it out to wear down the dealer, or I can bill my customers for my time and make up that money and get my truck sooner.

In the end, I'll get that extra $1K USAA discount so my net cost will be better but in the end it doesn't change the negotiated discount I got off MSRP.

I do agree, our time should have a value.
Msrp 83,480
Deal. 69,999
Discount 16%
Trade :
Perfect condition 34,500
Retail. 37,000
Deal. 35,500
TTL are not part of this factor but incentives an rebates are
I couldn't be happier

My ordered 2020:
MSRP $77,775.00
Deal $68,956.00 (EP)
Discount = 11.3%

I don't believe there is a better discount available on an ordered truck.
