Muddy~Rusty new truck 2025 2500

That’s how it should be handled. Great job everyone

Truck ordered > truck delivered to dealer > truck inspected > issue found > issue corrected by dealer before customer delivery

Ok but you can’t complain about them not fixing it if you don’t give them the opportunity to fix it
I simply stated that I will not ask them to do what I think is right. If they wish to move forward and do something, I’ll be more than happy to give them that opportunity.

Purchased a 2025 2500 Ram the day before Thanksgiving. It was delivered first week in December from a dealer 350 miles away. The truck currently has 565 miles on it. There is rust everywhere under this truck. I did not think this would be possible for such a new truck, especially since I live in Texas. Anyone else experience this?
Had similar issues with my 2025 2500. Less rust but lots of mud that the dealer (Greenway / Orlando, FL - avoid at all cost) said was common on trucks manufactured in Mexico. If it's a known issue why didn't they correct it prior to delivery? They even sent a copy of the bulletin MOPAR sent to the dealers. All they care about is how much crap they can up-sell (paint protection, nitrogen in tires, extended warranty, stupid high interest rates, etc....) Since I am 125 miles away from the dealer I got them to agree to paying for a complete detailing including under carriage and engine bay.

Sad to hear. And thank you for sharing your experience.
So the dealers are being reimbursed for extra detailing work due to this bulletin? If that’s the case, I hope my dealer didn’t apply for reimbursement.

granted I'll probably crawl under my next ram, but like others on here, a quick walkaround is what I'd expect most do. never had the "need" to check to see if the frame was starting to rust at 45 miles

bought a 22 from Mark Dodge, met them in Shreveport and noticed an obvious scratch that wasn't apparent in the pics. definitely didn't crawl under it and by the looks of some of these pics, mine is still cleaner than what the OP truck looks like.

I am off Thursday and Friday so I will spend my free time cleaning up this truck to a respectable level. I’m going to pressure wash it thoroughly one last time. The rust prevention products I ordered showed up along with glass cleaner to get the residue off of all of the exterior glass. I will take before and after photos.

Disappointed to see Ram is not taking care of this for you.

I just used Por15 on some snowmobile rear suspension parts. Not cheap but it goes pretty far. I’ve not used it before but very impressed with the results after two light coats. I’m positive it will last longer than Rustoleum in my case.

So I spent my New Year’s day, cleaning the truck once again. This crap that comes on these trucks does not come off. It’s not like dirt I’ve ever seen. I used a sponge and a scrub brush on everything under the truck. All it does is smear and when it dries, it looks like a bunch of smeared mud. I threw in the towel and decided to just coat the entire frame with the rust prevention spray because it actually makes the frame look like a new truck again. After going through this process, I’m convinced that this issue will not go away until Ram addresses what’s causing it there will be others like me. I’m not the only one who expects to get a nice clean truck off the dealer lot.
I’m really disappointed with RAM on this. I say Ram because the dealers have nothing to do with it. After putting in the work that I did yesterday, I now know that there is nothing a dealer can do to clean these trucks off and make them look new. They’ll always have stains and signs of being Rainy Season Rams.
As for ram cares, we’ve been kicking emails back-and-forth in the last one they asked me for my vin.

This picture depicts the frame after I’ve cleaned it thoroughly. You can still see the stains that will not come off.

Before and after photos. I know there’s paint run but I’m not concerned because location- can’t see it after I put the wheel liners on.
I’m impressed with the POR 15 product at this point we’ll see how long it holds up.

Looking good! You're right about the mud. It does not come off. I've spent hours cleaning on mine.

I was watching this video wondering if his truck came from the dealer that muddy. It looks like the same mud and he said his truck came from LA. Doesn't matter either way.

Same mud from Mexico. Like I said this ain’t going away. There’s a solution to the issue. It’ll be interesting to see if they handle it or it continues.

From what I heard, they’re adding onto the plant in Mexico. I’m guessing that the vehicles may have to drive through unpaved areas now to be parked out of the way of the new construction that’s my only answer. My 22 did not come like that.

I’d wager to guess that she rolled off the line right at lunch break whistle ……then her maiden voyage was …beer and tacos.

I posted up a bunch related to this rusting issue back around April/May when I ordered my truck thru Mark Dodge. I was absolutely horrified by the pictures I was seeing from local Nebraska dealers, with the truck all muddy inside and out. And all the black plastic trim pieces already looked like they'd sat in the desert sun for 20 years. I appreciate you researching and finding this is a problem with their storage lot. I was always told it was from the train ride. My theory is they probably have a dust control chemical like calcium chloride. They spray that on gravel roads in Nebraska, and while it does keep the dust down, it is the same stuff they use to de-ice the roads in winter, and it rusts things out super quickly.

I wouldn't use any POR 15 products. I've applied them following their instructions to a T and they actually caused worse rust.

My experience with my May 2025 Cummins was that it looked brand new underneath, and I was able to add my extra paint without having to prep it very much at all. The top and inside were detailed very well by Mark Dodge. However, they missed the entire roof and painted area below the rear window. Once I cleaned the roof, I found a massive scratch down to the metal and a huge dent. If I ever get another new vehicle, I guess I'll go over the whole damn thing with a magnifying glass while I'm picking it up. Unfortunately for me that day, I had pulled an all nighter, caught a 430am flight, and stepped out of the plane to 100% humidity and 90°+, and their dealership's power went out. So I was tired and sweating my brains out. I think Mexico probably feels their jobs are threatened and they are sabotaging trucks a little bit this year. Mark Dodge actually told me they've had countless claims submitted against Ram to be reimbursed for excessive cleaning. 10k miles later, and I still haven't gotten my truck as dirty as it was when it showed up to MD.

I did purchase a truck many years ago that had rail car issues, basically metal particles from the rail and the rail car wheels generates a fine dust that will get on the paint. If not cleaned immediately, the dust will rust and stain the paint. But this is a different issue.
