I have a couple of questions regarding JScan. I got the fog/driving lights not to drop out with high beans correctly. I wanted to show the gear position. I go into JScan and change it and it never takes. I sent an email to the developer asking for guidance, he said it doesn’t work for all displays, I asked him how to tell the displays apart and he never responded. I have a 2020 Limited, how do I figure out if it is the display or I am doing something wrong. Also is there a more complete document showing what everything means that shows up in Jscan? I will be adding a Ram 50 gal fuel tank in shortly and will need to update fuel tank size.

I tried a few options using AlphaOBD and wasn't able to get it to display.

I would half expect the gear indicator to show where it is when you do gear lockout.

I just turned this on in the EVIC screen setup.

In AlfaOBD

Car configuration change: ECUConfig 4-Actual Gear Display: Yes

Scroll to The screen setup option in your EVIC and scroll up/down until you see Current Gear.
Press the right arrow and scroll up to On.
Press the right arrow to set.
Press the left arrow to exit, press left arrow to exit setup.

@Brutal_HO has anyone figured out how to keep the "Spot Lights" on the front of the tow mirrors on while cruising? Would be nice while cruising at the ranch and to also use as ditch lights when mirrors are folded in.

Adding OEM LED REFLECTOR Headlights

Adaption- Led light settings

- front turn lamps present -on
- led low beam lamps present -on
- led high beam lamps present-on
-led front park/ marker lamp present -on


modules- Body controller-configuration

- search for a5 select set
- search for a7 select set ( i had to search signature to find it when i did it)
- search signature light - select signature light present select present.

I think I did it right but my signature light is the turn signal..........the white signature brow, top and bottom, only come on when headlights are on. When headlight, low beam, is off and setting is auto then only amber turn signal is on as DRL Im guessing.

I used JScan on my JL Rubicon without any issue and expected no issue with the PW. However, I ran into some CEL issues after changing the tire size and needed to do a full ABS initialization to fix it. All work out fine now.

ABS init is part of the normal tire size change procedure.

It absolutely does, many of us here and on 5thgenrams have programmed FOBs with JScan.

I programmed 2 ebay FOB for my 2020.

I received my KaodTech cable yesterday and will attempt to enable remote start. I have the 1000ohm resistors and a FOB. Is there a specific sequence to follow to program the FOB with JScan or does the app guide you through the process? Now I need to find which wire to add the resistor.

I have a Faraday bag. Thanks for the suggestion. Do you happen to know which cable I need to tap for the resistor? I heard it is a purple cable under the fuse box.

Yes. I just tuck mine up out of the way, PITA to hook and un-hook it every time. Plus my old back does not like the game of twister!!

I leave mine hooked up to the wiring as well (but not in the OBDII port) and have had no issues. There’s plenty of room near the connections to tuck it away, and no shop has ever noticed it (or at least hasn’t mentioned it). If you’re out of warranty or just don’t care about a dealership seeing it in the OBDII port, I don’t see why you couldn’t leave it plugged in to the port without the vLinker.
