Items to Inspect Upon Delivery

3/4 on passenger side. I'll take a pic when I get it back from the dealer after new front and rear cab mounts. "Supposedly FCA updated the updated front and rear mounts"? Dealer said I was going to be first to receive them. I'm skeptical until I see part numbers and compare them to the "new" parts that were installed on other folks trucks here. As far as the fluids, I have bought three new rams since '06. All three were well below on axles and transfer case. It took a quart in each to get it to 1/4 inch below fill hole. I'm only suggesting the OP check to be sure.
Like i said i have 1/8 both sides just like every other one i have seen, i have no idea how they could have the box opening 3/4” to wide... is the gap just at the top or all the way down?

All the way down the side. Looking at the hinge, it looked like it was crushed in. I waited for the warranty to run out before I massaged it to match the other side but really like didn't gain much in closing the gap. I'm not sure how to adjust it or even if it can be done. I really don't care about it to much. I'd rather have a bad tail gate gap than a misaligned cab/ bed that some on here have.

My misaligned cab/bed was corrected and the tailgate was never maladjusted. It opens and closes with ease.

Mine still opens and closes but you can feel it kinda hanging up on the strikers. I'm personally not to worried about it because I'm changing it out for a fifth wheel tailgate anyway. The OP should check his just to be sure as well. I also had a gear shift lever that was not tightened down and was missing that little black piece on the driver's front door ( I forget what it's called). The OP should check that too. The door piece just might be a fluke that only happened to mine but I'm pretty sure others had the gear shift lever loose. (Unless ram took care of that as well) this was on a '19 and I would like to think these were fixed by ram by now.

I had three issues of which I did nothing about:

A braided hose/line cover had a long thread off of it in engine compartment: I'll trim it.

The plastic cover on the front electronics at top of windshield was not completely seated: I snapped it in place with finger pressure.

My bed is off alignment just under 1/4". Can't see it unless really looking for it and going back and forth side to side, nothing protrudes. It's on a diagonal it looks like too, as the measurements are different on all corners.

Nice long test drive before you sit down to sign papers, don't sign any until you are satisfied with EVERYTHING.

whats the best/right diesel supplement to add for these cumming motors?

was reading this pdf, and some look way better than others. only thing ive ever know , so far, is the Kleen stuff. what does Cummings/ram recommend?
and what do they recommend come cold weather?

lastly, my truck didnt come with the full winter kit, so no front cover. what do you recommend?

ran into this, wondering if that marketing or actual 'data and performance is all we care about"

I use diesel kleen in my 06 5.9 but not in my '19. I used it once in my 19 and it kept regen-ing until that tank of fuel was gone. Diesel kleen has an ash content that the system detects. I use hot shots secret EDT with the lx4 (ashless) and just turned 50k miles. never regens and so far no glitter bomb (knock on wood)

As an addendum, that PDF doesn't ssy

No. I tend to over juice the 06 a little bit but I was worried about the emissions system on the 19 so I followed the directions to the letter. Also, I didn't see what engine (s) that PDF was referring to. It could be approved for older cummins engines w/o dpf or heavy equipment engines. I would like to know if there's any documentation that states it's dpf compliant. (Maybe I should research a little more) but I like diesel kleen and have been running for ever. still shy to use it again in the '19 especially after using HSS with out issues.

Not saying you should not run HSS i dont just due to availability. I am using the diesel klean right now because i got a couple bottles free from my father inlaw but i tend to run Power service as i can buy it off the shelf and cummins approved plus i have had good luck with it

I stand behind diesel kleen as well. I've got 500k on my 06, original cp3. The injectors were replaced but I got 345k out of them so not complaining. HSS is pretty available at most auto parts stores where I'm at in Ga it's just a little pricey.

Do all Rams come from the same factory in mexico? Does your truck have the same exact emissions crap on it that the ones in the US have? (This is not related to the DK vs HSS conversations) I'm just wondering. I remember back in the 80's and 90's we would specifically look for trucks that were built in Canada or for Canada. They didn't have the emissions garbage and seemed to have better parts put on from the factory. Just wondering if this is still the case? Sorry if I've gone of topic, looking for another truck and saw you were from Canada so figured I'd ask. Lol

All the HD trucks come from the Saltillo plant.

Nope they all come from Mexico spec’ed the same

Look in the box and see if there are 5 holes if you ordered your with 5er/gooseneck prep. Mine got lost somehow (wasn't put in) and it took me a while to notice that (I also ordered mine with toneau cover so didn't see the inside the box until I needed to use the box). As OEM parts were hard to come by, they sent my truck to an aftermarket hitch place (of my choice) to get it installed. As a bonus the kit they installed came with a 30k lbs gooseneck ball and safety chain anchor kit.
