Hey. I was wondering if the Gentex GENFDM3LN rear view mirror with display will work in my 2026 Ram 2500 rebel? I want to get one. I just want a a mirror with a display that’s like oem. I bought a wolfbox mirror but haven’t installed it. Thing is big. Has anyone tried the gentex? Any info would be great. Thanks.

Ironic, since Gentex actually makes the digital rear view mirror that Ram 1500 trucks use.

Yes, for the 23-26 models, Ram introduced the Magna, which is the 3.0 digital rear view mirror.

I called the Gentex support and they said they did not have anything that would work for the rams. that was a couple months back.

Well that sucks. I was about to buy one. I thought because it has its own camera I could just install the mirror, give it power and use the camera that comes with it that it would work. I seen others install it in other vehicles and it worked.

That’s all it is, and that one should work in any vehicle. As long as you can come up with a way to mount the camera. Also, looks like it’s set up with a wedge mount, so you’ll need a wedge-to-twist off mount adapter, and it should be all good.

Thanks for the reply. I think I am going to bite the bullet and buy it. I live in Toronto, Canada so it’s going to take a couple of weeks for it to come to me. See what happens I guess. I can mount the camera with double sided tape at the rear window. The only problem I see is to find a way to mount the mirror. Hopefully I can open the factory mirror I have now and the gentex and swap mounts like you said and posted a picture on here a couple of years ago.

I wonder if the gentex mirror would work with the oem camera in the 3rd brake light. Or I wonder if I can fit the gentex camera where the oem camera is installed. That would be clean.

Hey. Got the gentex mirror today. Just realized the mirror has a 12 pin for power. The Ram has 10 pin for power. So now I have to figure out how to get power to the mirror. I wanted to get an adapter to plug the mirror into the Ram 10 pin. I don’t think they make a 12 pin to 10 pin adapter. Probably wouldn’t work. Any suggestions. Wiring thing I suck at. I have to read the instructions.

Look at the LH rear lower outside of the cab, between the bed, and see if you have a cable connection as shown in in red on the photo attached.
Also attached is photo of plug for the digital camera connection at the bumper.

The mirror comes with t-tap’s. So I guess I will try and tap into the oem mirror power cable or 12v outlet cable behind the uconnect screen. I am dumb when it comes to this stuff.

Not sure. I want to install the mirror and get it working with the gentex camera. Then order the 3rd brake light. Someone on here said it probably won’t work because Rams mirror camera is digital and gentex is analog. Plus I live in Canada and everything is so expensive.

Hey. I mounted the gentex mirror today with a mirror adapter that jimmy07 pointed me to. Thanks jimmy.

Of course nothing ever goes smoothly for me when I do something. I can not get the mirror to turn on. It comes with wire taps. I tried connecting the taps to the oem mirror wires. But the gentex harness has three connections. I can’t connect two taps to the same red and orange wire? I am lost. I used a meter light and I have 12v going to one of the wires when the ignition is one. Should I connect the taps to the main wire that the oem mirror wire is connected to which is in the headliner where the sun roof controls are I think. I couldn’t see it. Is there anywhere else I can tap into? Very lost and down now. The mirror was expensive. Any help would be great.

If it’s not working then maybe try both switched ignition wires one at a time and if that don’t work then tie them together ?

Hey. I put 2 taps on the orange and red 12v power wire at the same time. Tested the with the volt meter and had 12 volts and mirror still didn’t turn on. I wasn’t sure if you can put two taps on the same wire. I tied one at a time and nothing. Very lost maybe the ground is not on right or a blew a fuse but I have power when the ignition is one. Tested it with the volt meter. So if fuse was blown probably wouldn’t get any volts. Feel very defeated.
