Ironic, since Gentex actually makes the digital rear view mirror that Ram 1500 trucks use.I called the Gentex support and they said they did not have anything that would work for the rams. that was a couple months back.
Yes, for the 23-26 models, Ram introduced the Magna, which is the 3.0 digital rear view mirror. So you mentioned the ram 1500 may use the Gentex. Ram went with the magna clear view system on the ram 2500 and 3500 23-26 trucks. Interesting.
Well that sucks. I was about to buy one. I thought because it has its own camera I could just install the mirror, give it power and use the camera that comes with it that it would work. I seen others install it in other vehicles and it worked.I called the Gentex support and they said they did not have anything that would work for the rams. that was a couple months back.
That’s all it is, and that one should work in any vehicle. As long as you can come up with a way to mount the camera. Also, looks like it’s set up with a wedge mount, so you’ll need a wedge-to-twist off mount adapter, and it should be all good.Well that sucks. I was about to buy one. Thanks for the reply. I think I am going to bite the bullet and buy it. I live in Toronto, Canada so it’s going to take a couple of weeks for it to come to me. See what happens I guess. I can mount the camera with double sided tape at the rear window. The only problem I see is to find a way to mount the mirror. Hopefully I can open the factory mirror I have now and the gentex and swap mounts like you said and posted a picture on here a couple of years ago. That’s all it is, and that one should work in any vehicle. There are adapters available that will adapt that wedge mount to a Ram twist off mount:The only problem I see is to find a way to mount the mirror. Hopefully I can open the factory mirror I have now and the gentex and swap mounts like you said and posted a picture on here a couple of years ago.
Thanks. I will take a look. There are adapters available that will adapt that wedge mount to a Ram twist off mount:
