I just used a 1/4" drive ratchet with a 10mm socket and removed the tiny bolt and replaced with the new shifter. Be careful tightening because the column seemed to be cast aluminum. About a 1 out of 10 on difficulty.Hello, I have a question regarding a shifter upgrade. To install a leather limited style shifter, do I need to remove only one bolt and slide out the existing unit, or is the replacement process more involved? It’s a ‘23 2500. Thanks.
Not difficult at all. It's been a couple years since I did it so memory is fuzzy, but it seems I used a 10mm wrench and a screw driver to remove the lower column cover and it took less than five minutes. I'm pretty sure installation instructions were included in the box. Thanks @wrvond I found something else to spend my money on! Is it hard to yank out the old shifter and install the new one? I did see videos where there is a bolt at the base of it where it connects to the column, but im more interested in knowing the process for attaching it within the column. Thanks again!

So when I looked this up, the last year I saw went up to 2024 (when you look at the years this part fits). Being this is my third Ram, I can’t see the parts changing much if at all. But I’m also scared to pull the trigger for fear it won’t fit then I’m stuck with a $120 part I can’t use.I'm guessing the part number hasn't changed with the new transmission??
That's understandable. So when I looked this up, the last year I saw went up to 2024 (when you look at the years this part fits). If you're willing to part with it, that would be fine by me. Let me know and I can venmo you to cover shipping to PA.That's understandable.
I reckon I could send you my old shift lever and you could try it out. If it fits you know the Limited lever will also.
It's the box my Limited shift lever came in.I looked that part number up but it looks like the plastic one.
You can contact @Aluminati79 and ask him where I ordered it from. It'll be on the address label underneath the one I put on to send my old one to him.I looked that part number up but it looks like the plastic one.
Should be here today…can’t thank you enough for sending the old one to see if it works…this will be a project after fishing this weekendYou can contact @Aluminati79 and ask him where I ordered it from. It'll be on the address label underneath the one I put on to send my old one to him.
They’re identical, I just unboxed it and pulled back the shift boot and held the one I got from @wrvond in the same position as the other one, right underneath it…here’s the picsI looked that part number up but it looks like the plastic one.

Fun fact: if you get the new one and don’t like the chrome bezel (like me) on the end of the handle, you can pop off the black end cap and install that instead
