I just used a 1/4" drive ratchet with a 10mm socket and removed the tiny bolt and replaced with the new shifter. Be careful tightening because the column seemed to be cast aluminum. About a 1 out of 10 on difficulty.Hello, I have a question regarding a shifter upgrade. To install a leather limited style shifter, do I need to remove only one bolt and slide out the existing unit, or is the replacement process more involved? It’s a ‘23 2500. Thanks.
Not difficult at all. It's been a couple years since I did it so memory is fuzzy, but it seems I used a 10mm wrench and a screw driver to remove the lower column cover and it took less than five minutes. I'm pretty sure installation instructions were included in the box. Thanks @wrvond I found something else to spend my money on! Is it hard to yank out the old shifter and install the new one? I did see videos where there is a bolt at the base of it where it connects to the column, but im more interested in knowing the process for attaching it within the column. Thanks again!

So when I looked this up, the last year I saw went up to 2024 (when you look at the years this part fits). Being this is my third Ram, I can’t see the parts changing much if at all. But I’m also scared to pull the trigger for fear it won’t fit then I’m stuck with a $120 part I can’t use.I'm guessing the part number hasn't changed with the new transmission??
