Very interesting. What he says makes sense and he sure says it like he is sure it is correct. But I have not had any issues at all so far with the "oiled" filter without the glue strips. I wonder if the "oiled" filter WITH the glue strips was just too much, The glue strips did not allow flexibility in the filter so air flow was reduced somewhat. That combined with the "oil" caused a lot of issues maybe. But the "oiled" filter WITHOUT the glue strips perhaps allowed enough air flow so that the oil in the filter did not cause an issue. This is all speculation on my part of course but it is weird how if the oil was the problem, then why have most been able to run the oiled filters without the strips and not have any issues? Did the glue strips on the oiled filter caused the air to draw through more of the filter material, pulling out some oil that then coated the sensors? But once the glue strips were removed that allowed better air flow and less oil to be pulled out of the filter. Who knows!!??
