I don't have the transfer case shifter on the floor, it's electronic. Also have a small tray in front of the seat. Now at the very bottom of the dash is a small ledge to store who knows what. Kinda awkward to reach done to it. Would love to have the fold down cup holders instead that my 2011 1500 had.

Okay, first I'm sorry for the long delay. I recently got around to installing this. Shortly after the install I broke my leg and need surgery. I am on the recovery side of this now.

It does fit. Now saying that I will say it is not a direct bolt in. The floor is the same but the dashboard is different. It is different at the center bottom where it would meet the console. So the route I chose to go is to modify the console and not touch the dash. If I were to do it again I would like to have spent a bit more time trimming it. But honestly I can't tell and not sure anyone could without crawling around. I am going to try to post the pics in order of the install but no promises.

Looks so good and seems useful enough that it really makes you wonder what Ram was thinking removing it from the new ones.

Has anyone tried this one a 19? I have a power wagon so manual floor shift still applies for me

Glad I found this thread! Going to have to do this on my 2019 Power Wagon! Really disappointing use of center console space on the 2019+....its not like anyone is going is to be putting their feet there due to lack of space anyways.IMG_0067.jpg

I deed it! It was a bit more time consuming getting it trimmed to fit than I expected, but all in all pretty easy upgrade. I ordered the whole console used on eBay for like $70... much cheaper than buying new.

Definitely a lot of back and forth between test fitting and the dremel. Not mentioned in the post above, but I had to cut off a big plastic post on the underside of the console-side piece to get it to sit properly. If I’d known this piece had to come off , I would have cut it off first which would have helped getting it all to fit with less back and forth. But take your time and don’t expect to cut it perfectly in one go.
A couple other notes:
-the trim panel than is at the bottom of the center stack pulls straight off. Pry from the sides to get some leverage and then just pulls to pop the clips. This piece does not get reused with the new console.
-Shift boot: use a trim removal tool or a screwdriver to get some gap between the shift boot and the “console” from the REAR(seat side), not from the front (console side). Console side is a plastic tab that could break, seat side is a metal clip. Once you have some gap you can see the metal clip and use another screwdriver or trim tool to push it forward clear of the plastic, and move the boot out of the way.
-Remove the shift knob. It will make putting the console in and out easier

The reason this part was changed to the new look without the cup holders and square in the middle is due to Ram discontinuing the G56. The shifter came up through that center hole.

I think between that and the fact that most mid-to-high trim trucks are getting the electronic transfer Case and bucket seats... they didn’t want to invest much to into designing a nice new lower console.
