Wow, so it looks like I have same basic truck with 4WD but have Aisun trans so minus 200 lbs PL for that plus my GVW is 12300, so my PL of 4070 seems about right.Yeah, it does take a little. If you need 4X4 it's a small price to pay. I shouldn't and wouldn't need it given my plans.
You also have the HO, I don't.Wow, so it looks like I have same basic truck with 4WD but have Aisun trans so minus 200 lbs PL for that plus my GVW is 12300, so my PL of 4070 seems about right.
Also I like my 4WD as much for the low range as for the extra traction.
Those pictures are deceptive, I've seen them in person sitting side by side at a rally. It was impressively larger, in fact I wondered how it even fit into the truck, it was so much bigger.
Speaking from experience, I'm guessing?
No, but I have been known to bragA gentleman never tells.
I’m curious. All you guys with 3500 SRW trucks, what is your payload? When looking at the towing specs on the RAM webpage I dont see these huge differences in payload until you step up to a DRW. Am I misreading these charts?
3500 SRW 6.7 Standard Megacab Longhorn 4wd 3935 PL 19935 Towing.
If you are pulling a 5th wheel buying a 2500 makes zero sense. Zero.
Frankly, I don't think 2500s make any sense whatsoever. Either you need a half ton or an HD truck. And then the only decision is SRW 3500 or DRW 3500. There is zero downside to an SRW 3500 over a 2500. None.

A gas 2500 can pull a small 5th just fine for lots of people and has enough payload and possibly a better ride, better off-road manners. Not everyone pulls a triple axle behemoth TH or drop-frame full time rig.
