I hope to get mine in next Friday (it’s has been a journey just getting them). I will test fit them then off to the body shop to color match.
Ordered mine middle of February and finally got them the 27th of May. Never told me they were back ordered, even after emailing them a couple of times.

I had it done on my truck while getting my bumpers color matched. You take the plastic clips off (they slide) and trim off the plastic alignment post. They bolt right up inside the wheel well and use 3m tape where the flares meet the body panels. No extra holes.
How did you go about having them color matched? After seeing the night editions I really would like at least my front end to all be color matched.

I had a body shop paint them along with my bumpers when I swapped out chrome for color-matched.

Thank you very much. How much did you have to pay for the painting? Did a body shop do it or dealer?

Body shop, but it was all a part of a bunch of different work I was having done. I don't have the break out cost.

Finaly got my fender flares painted and had a chance to install them this weekend between rain storms. I took a few pictures as I went along. I used a black pinstripe tape to mark where the flare would sit when bolted on. then removed the flare and followed up with 1/2 inch clear door guard tape following along the pinstripe tape. Uded the door guard tape to keep from having the fender flare from rubbing on the paint. Mix that with the sand around here in the Florida panhandle and it will eat the paint up.

For those curious, this is what the bedside with factory flares looks like

Did you use any double-sided trim adhesive tape in place of the white plastic tabs (which have to be removed since the stock fenders don't have the mounting holes) when you installed the flares? Or just the screws along the inside lip of the fenders?

I just used the screws along the inside of the fender-well. They fit pretty snug. The rear ones have a slight gap at the bottom on the trailing edge. but not very noticeable.

Thanks for the reply. I bought the same kit, had them painted, and am trial fitting them for the paint protection film. Using just the screws, they do fit snugly against the fender sides, so I was thinking about skipping the trim tape, especially since the tape would make them hard to remove should that step ever be necessary.

Did you have any trouble peeling the pinstriping tape off? I was concerned about the permanence of the tape if I had to leave it on the fender for any length of time, so I went with 1/8" wide artist's tape from Hobby Lobby.

No, it came right off. It's just 1/8" tape that they use when painting pinstripes .

I added bushwacker “oem style” flares to my tradesman. Install went smoothly. Only thing not mentioned in the instructions is that you have to remove the little plastic trim pieces along the bottom of the fender/arch.

Hello,

Do you have a link of the clear door guard you used? Do you think using a fender flare moulding would work also? How are they holding up so far? I want to do the same on my 2022 big horn.
