Same here for the most part. Like others, this is my "semi" retirement truck. Waiting for my VA to kick in at %100 hopefully by end of this coming year. Open a shooting range on my property in the meantime and keep up with this truck to make it last. Do some RV'n or possibly some fulltime livin in it if we don't find what we're looking for. Just grab some land and build on it. New year, new adventures!

Haha, it’s funny you say the “semi” portion of retirement when mentioning the truck. My wife told me when I showed her prices that I was looking at a “60 y/o” retirement truck and I had to focus on the “40 y/o” one. Of course when she saw used prices and realized there wasn’t much difference in what I wanted, she came around.

I’m just starting my C&Ps on Monday (joy), but my problem is my line of work I couldn’t document much without being told I could always be replaced. Still though 100% isn’t off the table yet. We’re definitely taking a year off and showing the kids the country before settling down. I’ve signed up for some classes at UTEP online to make due until I can get to A&M. We’ll find a place to build or full-time if Key West is a possibility for jobs.

But I’m not in any kind of a hurry… safe travels!

Looks like it starts on the Big Horn . I looked on Ram.com and Tradesman didn’t have it in there pictures.

My ‘15 BH had it and it also started to crack/bubble. Some patience and delicate work with heat gun and it peeled off leaving perfect Granite Crystal matching the truck. I agree it looks far better.
Yeah I’m gonna pull it off of my truck when I get it… Looks so much better.

Nice truck Rossage! I never thought for one second that I’d want the Longhorn. Well you changed that. It’s amazing how classy your truck is. I really liked everything about it. Especially the wood and colors in the cab.

My 2021 1500 looks like that. It will be traded in on the Limited 3500 that I'm waiting on,. I traded a 2017 2500 Laramie Cummins in on the 1500 Longhorn that I have now. It's a nice truck but it's not a HD.

The only downside to the Longhorn is with the lighter colored leather. When getting in and out of the truck the leather seat bottom is starting to show wear with just 4000 miles on it. I think that would show less on seats that are black leather. The wear I'm talking about is the leather starting to crease and wrinkle from sliding across it getting in and out. If the leather was a little thicker I think it would be less of an issue.
Dang it! I have black leather in my 2015 limited and it shows wear like crazy. I’ve had it professionally touched up 3 times. I started intentionally lifting my butt on and off the drivers seat and that seemed to help versus just sliding onto and off of it. I ordered the indigo and frost leather with the lighter touch points hoping it would show the wear less than the black…

I worry about that even in my cloth upholstered trucks. I make it a point to step up on the boards then sit into it and the opposite getting out. Anal I know, but I hate seeing those creases on the seat cushions after time. This leather is suppose to hold up better than most. Even over the Laramie.
The Laramie barely had any leather at all. I believe just the one panel that your rear end sits on is leather. The rest is.... something else. I got rid of my 2021 Laramie because I hated the fake leather. I felt that it was trashy. The Longhorn is not all like the Laramie.

Are you telling me the Laramie has fake leather given the upscale price difference? If so I'm glad I didn't pay the extra for leather Glad I purchased the Big Horn instead. I can get real leather seats for less than $1600.00.

Yes the quality of the leather in the Limited / Longhorn is significantly different (better) than a Laramie.

if you want to preserve the leather buy some leather additives. you can buy it in a spray and rub it into the leather it keeps it pliable and will help prolong the condition of the seats.

Yes, there is barely a piece of actual cow hide in a Laramie. Most of it is vinyl/rubber feeling junk.

Do you think you can post a larger picture of your new truck. I ordered my Limited in that same color. If you post a larger photo I can see what that paint color looks like on a dually. That color looks excellent with the Longhorn package. My 1500 is that same color with the Longhorn package.
