We drove down to Louisiana on a rental and drove the 3 trucks back. We got to Mark Dodge at 8 am before they opened to find our trucks up front and ready to go. The detailing job was poorly done, I know they had to detail 3 trucks at the same time but they could have tried better. Once Aaron got in, he brought the bad news, funds didn’t come through for my (Patriot Blue) truck. They dont accept ACH, I didn’t know that when I sent them ACH 3 days before our arrival. Aaron was awesome, he spent his valuable time dealing with this as he was in and out with a lot going on at the dealership, all this is happening on Dec 23rd. We called our banks (Boa for me, Chase for them) to discuss how to proceed. I had to send another wire transfer to them to get on the road. Boa and Chase assured me that the funds I sent via ACH were declined and will come back to my account in a few business days. (Funds did come back)
We hit the road. I was impressed with the truck. I know we were traveling on flat I10 going east but still impressed. MPGs peaked at 18.9 but average for 825 miles was 18.5. We had 2 HO and one 2500 trucks. The 2500 peaked at 19.2 MPG so pretty close to the 3500 HOs.
The trucks ride soo nice. Build quality seems great, will be able to judge better with time and more miles. The other 2 trucks suffered some chips on the front end. I warned my brothers to keep distance (seen those warnings here from the guys) but they did seem to follow close to trucks and other vehicles. My truck doesn’t seem to have any chips as I did keep plenty of distance between vehicles in front.
The screen is amazing. 920 miles already on the truck and not a single glitch or issue.
Hope it stays that way.
There she is in the driveway. What a beautiful truck. Was it worth the 4 months wait? Hell yes, I would of waited 6 months to get this again and save 10k with MD deal.
Shoutout to MD. They were awesome. Charles, Aaron, Sandi and a couple more guys I met while I was there waiting for the funds situation to play out.
One thing I would have done differently, order the damn running boards. Completely forgot about them during the build and order process. Definitely needs steps. Very tall truck.
Sorry for the long post.
