2025 Ram Heavy Duty To Get New ZF Powerline® 8-Speed

I miss my 04 with the NV5600 dual disc clutch. Third gear, toe the brake, heel the throttle, start to slip the clutch, one eye on the boost gauge, one eye on the red light, the other eye on the Tesla S next to me. Surprised the crap out of a few of them. Old fart now, I like my Aisin.

    Diesel Preignition

A diesel is a self igniting (no sparkplug) system that lights the fuel mixture from the heat of compression. At lower speeds the sound of this is most of the "clatter" that you hear but as speed increases it becomes less noticeable. In a gasser at idle, and at lower RPMs the combustion...

Water in Fuel (WIF) false positive

This Tech and the dealership he works at needs Kudus and a couple of atta-boys. Care to share the Tech and Dealer's name?

    Trans service

Too many "Uga Ugas" with the zip gun? Hard to imagine breaking off 90% of them. He probably realized that 1/2" Milwaukee 1200 ft lbs had the switch reversed after 18 and finally switched it to "remove" for the last two? Gotta be careful with those little 6mm jobbers.

    Buzz/Growl noise under load?

My 19 HO shortbed, after 100,000 miles of trouble-free driving, has developed a strange noise. It occurs under a moderate load and shows up at around 60-70 mph. Like some kind of harmonic buzzing. For folks old enough to remember, it kind of sounds like an old dry speedometer cable. It is...

Destroyed Ram TRX That Fell Off Moab Cliff

I've been hooked on these recovery Videos. Matt is the king of youtube with vids, but there are some other great guys working the offroad sport down in Utah. Trail Mater is awesome. Note to self: Don't back down the trail with cliff on one side without a spotter. Glad he and his dog made it...

    Aisin transmission fluid change

It would be nice to hear from some folks with "high" mileage AS69RC trannys, maybe some HotShotters? How many miles? What fluid have you been running? Frequency of changes?

    Aisin transmission fluid change

No additives. In general the OE's don't endorse them and in my experience, frequent changes and fresh fluids are the key to longevity. My old 04 served me for 472,000 miles on the original tranny (NV5600) and I was still on the original power steering pump! I sold it to a friend 5 years ago...

    Aisin transmission fluid change

My tranny has the Mobil 3309 sticker right on the passenger side above the pan. I figure if they put it on the side of the tranny, it's pretty good stuff. I've seen the insides of thousands of engines and I'm a little anal about early oil changes. On my Aisin I drained it thru the appreciated...

    Your gun is poop

I've got my 1911 in a Milt Sparks Versa Max. Might have to wait to get one, but it's worth it. He's got several styles and outstanding reputation.

Rinse Aid to Prevent Hard Water Spots

A customer of mine in a machine shop bought one of these because of the hard water problems he was having in his coolant sumps. https://www.griotsgarage.com/portable-water-deionizer/ I was impressed and have terribly hard water at home so bought one for washing my vehicles and couldn't be...

    Your gun is poop

Nah, it's completely butchered so collectability is pretty diminished. Yeah, Bee's are pretty rare but a neat little cartridge. Basically a necked down 25-20. That's one thing that bothered me and why I left it as is for so long. Dad had "hand tapped" screw holes and put a side mounted...

    Your gun is poop

I belonged to that range when it was still in Palmer Lake and got kicked out onto the prairie, The story was the damn Californians (I used to be one until I escaped) moved in and didn't like the idea of having a shooting range associated with the area. Good folks and memories managing the club...

    Your gun is poop

I had this old Model 92 in 218 Bee hanging around with my other firearms. My Dad finally gave it to me a few years ago and it was the rifle I shot my first deer with in 1963. Yeah, I'm that old. It had been sitting in a closet or under a bed for decades, and was pretty rough. The barrel was...

    Your gun is poop

Not sure what an "inbread read neck" is, but to denigrate something you know nothing about is a sign of insecurity in one's own self worth. This is an "off topic" discussion forum not related to the sites main interest.

    Your gun is poop

It is a 6mmPPC. That's a case that is based on a .220 Russian case and dominates short range benchrest. It is neck turned and fireformed to hold around 29-30 grains of powder. VihtaVuori 133 is the most common. We usually shoot a 65-68 grain bullet at around 33-3400 feet a second. This is...
