2021 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your order here!

So, so glad this forum pointed me towards the now-semi-famous Phillip Olson at Bud Clary's Auburn, WA location. Got a build in with him (in what looks like the last couple of weeks for MY2021), and so far, everything's 5 stars:

2021 Ram 4500 Chassis Cab 4x4
Cummins & Aisin
Laramie Crew Cab with 60" cab-to-axle
Billet silver over black leather
UConnect 4C 8.4" w/ NAV
Adaptive steering system
Trailer tire pressure monitoring
Towing tech group & Parksense F/R
Max tow package (4.44's)
74 gallon fuel tanks (52 & 22gal)

Stickers for 72,200... Phillip offered 62,200 before 2-3k in incentives and a very reasonable $150 doc fee (13.85% off msrp b4 incentives/doc/ttl). The bonkers part is that my 2020 Ram 2500 Hemi Big Horn Megacab (which I was intending to have for 10 years, until the prospect of full-time RV life had other plans for us) is worth 6-7k more in trade-in now than what I paid for it last fall, so there's only a few grand difference to kick in.. crazy times.

5/3 Ordered
5/14 D1 & VIN
5/31 Est. ship date, but there's a better chance of pigs flying, I'd say

Quick Update on my build, which should give some hope to fellow "under the wire" 2021 stragglers ;)

5/3 Ordered
5/14 D1 & VIN
6/1 Build Sheet (alerted via CryptoStickers)
6/1 Window Sticker (alerted via CryptoStickers a few hours later)

Hoping to check in with Bud Clary tomorrow (with Phillip Olson's delegate) for shipping confirmation, but I'm also taking ownership of the Grand Design 395MS 5th wheel that necessitated this tow pig, so it's a full day. All in all, this build is beating my expectations so far, but I know better than to have high hopes for the rail shipment portion.

Best of luck to the remaining stragglers out there!! Seems like Stellantis has lit a fire under the hard-working Saltillo lads and lasses, which is great to see.

You can check with RAM chat for info up till it ships, so you can bug them if you don't want to bug the dealership yet.

I'm going on 2 weeks waiting for a response from them on here-is there a different way to get a hold of them?

Looking good! How was the “checkout” process at Mark Dodge? Quick and painless?
When my truck arrived at Mark Dodge, I got a text.
Next day, photos, and a call with Aaron's right hand man. We went over my checklist.
Bank wired the money the next morning. Zoom meeting that afternoon to finalize paperwork.
Vehicle transport truck picked up truck a few days later and it was delivered to the west coast in three days.
Price was amount agreed on at time of order, minus an addition $1000 rebate Aaron was able to get at the time of sale.
Ended up being 14.25% under msrp.
I'd buy from them again.

Did you arrange the transport or did the dealer take care of that? I’m looking at my options for avoiding the 3 day drive home from there.

I went through a broker. Aaron offers the service as a courtesy if you want. Same thing, they go through a broker.
The thought of driving across Texas was my decision maker.

Talk about frustrating.

Ordered 4/29
VIN 5/5
Was told all of May that they were gathering parts
Ram Chat online said it would be built 5/31
Dealership said it would be built on 6/1

Now, they are telling me it is in the scheduling phase again, and won't be scheduled until the parts are available. If I could find what I want somewhere in the US for near the price I agreed on for this one, I'd forfeit my deposit.

Looks like I am going to be about 6 months from order to delivery, assuming they don't push back the estimated delivery date again that is now set for July 1st. I know my truck is in production now but not sure what stage it is in because my dealer gave me a ZI status which doesn't seem to exist.

Pretty ridiculous considering I ordered 1/15, if my truck doesn't turn into a 2022 I am going to be pissed off. I have had to rent a truck costing me $$$ thousands because the truck is so much later than the worst case scenario my dealership gave me at the time of ordering. I tried to make a deal to take a similar Limited model available in the same colour that is in transit now (minus the megacab) and the best deal they would give me is $15,000 more than I arranged for my current ordered truck

So did you not notice the $2,000 difference when you initially were going through everything in the dealership?

I'm not sure how that could happen really, unless you just totally missed it.

When I went through all my paperwork, with my sales guy, it went like this:

"Price we agreed on...
Minus 1000 in RAM cash...
Your new total.
Add TTL...
Add $165 for doc fee and 3 day permit...
Your OTD total.
Minus down payment and initial deposit...
You owe us this."

OK. (Check number against my napkin math that I had done prior.) I sign.

I fear you may have a hell of a time getting out of what you've signed. You should at least get the deposit back, I'd imagine, since that should be easy to prove excess cash. But the incentive may be toast.

The first sheet they presented was not what I was expecting. It was like the starting sheet they use when a buyer walks in off the street and they're trying to push all of my attention on what I wanted my payments to look like and my down payment.
Sheet:
Price I'd agreed to prior to ordering. (Main Concern) - Fine
$150 doc Fee - Fine
$399 Theft Protection
$600 Licensing - Fine

I'd asked that the $399 be removed as I didn't order or ask for theft prevention and the 0% for 36 months. New sheet, $399 gone, payments noted for 0%. I signed it.

Before leaving the dealership I asked the Finance guy to check where my deposit landed on the paperwork. He issued a refund back to my card.

Reviewing my paperwork after I got home, the $399 made it back onto the paperwork and noticed the $1,000 cash allowance wasn't there.

Wow, our experiences were dramatically different. Sounds like you got the deposit back. How'd things pan out with the rebate and theft fee at this point?

Informed by dealer that my truck has arrived on Colorado. They said they'd contact me once they have it and inspections are complete.

4/30 - Order placed, VON issued
5/3 - Received VIN from dealer
5/15 - RamChat stated truck in framing
5/19 - Build sheet available
5/22 - Window sticker issued
5/24 - RamChat stated target delivery date is 6/1 - 6/15
6/2 - Dealer said vehicle is in Colorado

Only Volvos get the full $500. For Ram it's $250, which is still better than nothing.
