A/C Issues? Anyone else

I went to dealer for 2 recall service, I gave the lady the TSB and she just noted on paper "the customer claim A/C is not cool"

After finish they told me A/C is working, I turn off the A/C, put the temp to a lower one but won't start the A/C, then let him feel the temp in 2 vents, it's 60 outside but the air is warm.
He then told me the tech will check the required parts and will call me for truck a overnight stay to test if it's necessary to change some parts.

There's no loaner car, is it normal?

The availability of loaners is very dealer specific and not something they all have (or are apparently required to have)... shop around and find a dealer that provides loaners... that's what I did.

I had the TSB done. It took a week and the dealer gave me a loaner truck for the whole time.

Thanks

Considering this LoneStar missing a lot of features, I decide to change it to an 2500 Limited.....

My truck is eligible for the TSB , I am taking truck in on the 25th I hope it fixes it.

Did it improve it, I hope you say yes I am getting it installed on the 25th.
Yes... as far as I can tell with cooler weather. The air is ice cold now and the volume of air is greatly improved.

I agree with you on the A/C capability. I purchased a 2019 2500 Limited custom order 6.4 Hemi currently only 600 miles on it and the A/C is weak at best. It will get cool but definitely not cold. I took it back to the dealer and they said they checked it and it was fine just put it on Max AC and recirculate. Again still not adequate in Texas heat. Nothing like my family honda, or sisters Ford or father inlaws F150. They get cold. I reached out to Mopar via email today to see if they have any known bug they are working on with the A/C but not confident. Anyway my two cents. This feels like a showstopper to me. My family were planning on getting a travel trailer and heading to explore West next year but this truck I don't think can handle Arizona if it can't handle Texas well. It's a shame it really is a nice truck but may have to turn it over and eat the loss. Anyway if anyone finds out anything please post hear I would really appreciate it.
I am having issues with AC on my 2020 3500 srw. There's a TSB out for issue. They are doing the TSB on my truck, it makes me nervous because it requires removing the entire dash to do the repair. It will only be as good as the mechanic doing the work. I hope it doesn't have squeaks and rattles after the repair.

The untrained monkeys in the factory are worse than the mechanics at the dealer usually there should not be any issues

I’m excited to hear there is a TSB that they can make the ac blow colder. I was also in the camp of “yeah the AC works, but i feel like it could be better”...specifically it took a while for it to start to blow cold on the hot summer afternoons.

that said I’m sad they will have to remove the whole dash .... I’d rather not have them do that, but I guess in the name of cold ac...

OK, finally I went to dealer and reserve a brand new 2021 RAM 2500 Limited.

There's no problem with 2021, right?

Bye my A/C warm air RAM3500 HO.

Tsb says it covers vehicles built on or before July 30 2020A73FDD2E-5885-4C09-8312-F88F0AF7725F.png

Finally got my truck back from having the TSB performed. As other have noted, there was an antifreeze smell coming from the truck when I picked it up, but it has gotten better with time. It currently feels -18 F here so I won't be checking the AC anytime soon; however, most of my problems previously had been with erratic behavior of the system (fan blowing hard when cold before engine heats up, different temps coming out of vents, blowing AC on cold sunny days). Although I've only had it back for the weekend, it seems that all of these issues have been corrected. It is now operating in what I would call a normal fashion. I also haven't heard any rattles come from the dash. Thus far I'm a happy customer with the TSB.

Which HVAC system do you have?

Erratic behavior is my biggest complaint with the system, the past few weeks I've been keeping the temp in the truck at 60 so it gives me heat but doesn't turn the cab into an oven as often. Still though sometimes it just keeps throwing heat at me until I turn the temp to LO... Also very rarely it'll just randomly start throwing cold at me while set to 60 and won't stop until I turn it up to 62 or higher, then it goes back to baking me.

I bought a 2019 2500 in August. I'm in MA. I thought I had the switch in the wrong position. I went back to the dealer and they said "it's fine". My 2002 1500 Chevy was colder. Does anyone have a fix. I'm calling corporate customer service.

Had the TSB done last week. I told my service guy about the TSB and told him the air wasn't working as it should have during the summer. He was great about it, took my truck, and ordered the parts. It took about a week as he said there was only one tech that he trusted to take apart the dash and when I brought it in he was taking a few days off. I just wanted to get it done and working right so I left it. I have to say, man, it does get really cold now. I would like to give a shout-out to those who put the time and research into this issue because if I didn't know about the TSB it would not have gotten repaired.

My truck is scheduled to go in on the 25th to get this TSB done, I can't wait. It's good to hear you had good results.
