Halogen to OEM LED swap

Got the lights installed and they are working but when I went into AlfaOBD to do the changes that Jimmy mentioned on the first page, I was able to do the first 3 but the last 2 (CBC Config I/O usage front/signature lamp left pin A7 and 2014 CBC Config I/O & Feat. front park/signature lamp right pin A5) are not listed. Am I doing something wrong? Also, I would like to try and set up the white tubes to be my DRL, do I do this in AlfaOBD?

You might have to use the windows version to switch over to a 2020 bcm to get those to show up.

I hope the need for the windows version is not necessary because I dont have a windows based option, and was hoping to do this tonight as well. What do those changes that stepbill can't make actually do anyway?

I downloaded a windows version and connected thru bluetooth. It will connect but when I go into car configuration change and I select something and then yes, start or stop does not become available and the upper left window shows idle instead of connected.

Any luck getting it figured out? Was planning on doing mine tonight. Also, based on your current changes do the lights at least work?

Those settings turn on the bcm outputs for the left and right signature lights (the upper and lower white strips that are illuminated when the lights are off).
Depending on what year and variant bcm you have, some settings don’t populate in the list. I thought it was only one of those settings that didn’t show up for 2019s. This is why I always recommend the windows version for the newer trucks, because you can force the settings to show up.

Well, looks like I'll have to settle with just getting the lights working and hope down the line the android version of the software gets updated to account for this. Been rolling around with no grill on for a few weeks waiting to make sure this all works before I put her back together.

pictures of my halogen to oem led swap. using obdlink mx+, alfaobd app, and koadtech security bypass harness with setting changed listed in pictures. thanks everyone. works 100% enjoy
Did you use the Android, Windows or IOS version of the app?

Dually, my signature lights come on when the headlights are on and if I turn the light switch to parking lights. Luckily my wife has a windows laptop so I am going to try and use hers.

That’s because they are the parking/ running lights in those two situations. The question is, do they come on when the headlight switch is in the off position- THEN they are acting as signature lights.

What position does the "key" need to be in to start this process? Acc or on?

Got all the stuff, just need to hook up and do it

So I'm all connected with the app where do I go to enable the lights?

So, just got done doing mine. Almost same issue as you but I think I saw the left pin A7 but not the right pin A5. Didn't want to do one without the other, not knowing what it would do. Will look at it again tomorrow.

When you look under 2014 CBC Config, see if there is a setting for bed lights present.

man no way I'm going thru all this crap..how do ya use the truck in the meantime? if the new halogen bulbs don't do the trick ill add some major fogs or a light bar.....my 02 has kc daylighters and you don't need anything else....ever....

I think I saw something like that as well. Is that somehow related?
Possibly. These BCMs are shared with other vehicles, such as the grand Cherokee, Durango, wrangler, etc. If you notice, a lot of the pin numbers for these settings have multiple functions described, depending on which vehicle the bcm is used in. The pin number (A5) refers to the connector on the BCM, and the wire position on that connector (A is the C1/A connector on the BCM). On the pre-2019 Rams, pin A5 just happens to be the output that drives the bed lights, and on the 2019+ HDs, that output drives the right signature light, so the name of the feature is irrelevant. The developer might have not renamed that circuit for the 2019 list when these trucks just came out, so I would try setting that to YES, along with the A7 setting, and see if it works.
