Hello all,
This modern 2022 Ram 3500 has so many electronics compared to my 1997 2500 I'm wondering if I need to do anything to keep power to systems when changing the battery.

Gas or diesel?

Diesel has 2 and you can swap one at a time if you're careful AF, though the IBS might get mad and take longer to settle.

Worst case, loss of power can cause apps a while to return to function on the radio.

gas, I somehow and to this day don't know how killed the battery a couple years ago. After jumping I found several things inop till I'd driven awhile. Hence my question.

Whatever goes haywire will come back to life in a day or less if you disconnect with no backup source. So either way you will be fine.

Sometimes it’s almost better to let the truck sit disconnected for a bit(30 mins or so) than to try to hurry and get a new battery back in and connected. It can be nerve racking with all the electronics our vehicles have these days.
