JScan Sticky

Thanks for responding. I forgot the truck specifics..... 2024 Big Horn level 1 pkg, 2500 4x4, 6.7 L, 36K on the meter.
My initial thought was to get the KAOdtech, I'm not too keen on dismantling the cluster....

I live very rural and no fear of anyone cloning the FOB. We don't even lock the house.....
Out of the 2 suggestions, any preference?

Cable? Not really but IMHO using KAOdTECH does help support the "little guy."

Hi all,

I have a 2021 Ram 2500 Cummins that I am trying to update the tire size to 37”. After updating the tire size, clearing any errors then running “ABS - Full Initialization” (Trucks is level the ignition is in the run state) I am getting the following error. All errors clear but the ABS light still blinks.

Any ideas?

Brand/model OBD reader?

Clear errors in ALL modules?

I have a Faraday bag. Thanks for the suggestion. Do you happen to know which cable I need to tap for the resistor? I heard it is a purple cable under the fuse box.
Not sure if you figured this out yet or not. But if you are trying to add remote start here is the post I saved so I could add remote start. Only issue I had was the purple cable was already installed on the CANBUS connector and I chased it down to the connector under the fuse box but the plug for that pin is plugged and I'm too nervous to take apart the motor side connector to make my final connection. So now I'm still in limbo but here is the link incase it helps you.

I got it to work. I tapped the purple wire without removing the plugs.

-3 honks when key fob is removed while engine running (2023 and newer)
Module: Body Controller > Configuration > Unintended Idle Alert > Set=on, Not Set=off
I tried to find this on my ‘22 and I don’t see unintended idle alert. What am I missing? Would love for this to go away.

Hello maybe someone here has been able to do this or have any advice. I recently purchased a 2024 Ram 2500 bighorn diesel truck. After doing some research i saw that i have the correct hood latch cable and all i installed the security bypass block that goes behind the gauges on the dash. And I was able to read my pin and enable remote start and some other small options. I am using the obdmx + and i have both the Jscan and alphaobd but i cannot program a new fob for the life of me using both programs. Alphaobd automatically tells me i have a 5 digit rolling pin when i put in my pin. And jscan tells me unable to program timed out or something like that after it tries to program a few times. Anyone have luck programing a new key fob for the 2024 ram 2500 diesel trucks? and if so what program was used. I really don't want to make the trip to the dealer just to program a new keyfob for remote start after doing all this work. And my other random question is if i was able to enable remote start, would my original key fob that only has the lock and unlock buttons be able to remote start the truck?

JScan is the only one of the 2 that can currently program a FOB.

Make sure your other FOB are out of range when you attempt.

You only need to pull the rolling PIN for FOB programming with JSCAN. There's no other reason to need a PIN for programming with JScan or AlfaOBD as there's no longer a requirement to reset the RF hub using said PIN.

Will the AlfaOBD cable work with the JScan or does it have to be the two wire splice into the IHS and other bus? Thanks

I’m using the Kadotech cable that’s recommended for the HD trucks for both JScan and AlfaOBD.

I was able to get it all to work JScan with the OBD mx+… the security gateway block I put the one behind the guages…. But wasn’t getting any luck programming a new key fob but it was because it was a bad aftermarket one…. I ended up purchasing a new oem fob and it worked right away… remote start and tailgate release all worked…
