JScan Sticky

I have left mine connected since I got it.

That said would leaving it connected cause any issues for another scan tool like the dealer uses?

I now have a Longhorn Ram

LOL

Also, I guess I need to fill the low tire up and make sure there are NO TPMS warnings before I change it?

Also:

May want to add this to the sticky.

No changes will take effect of you do not let the CEL blink a few times then go back to steady on.

My experience with the tire size change.
Adaptations >tire size > when the drop down menu ask which size to change to, look in the top part of the drop down and make a note of what size it says. On mine for a 275 33.2” tire it was already set to 33.87”. The new tires I installed ,295’s, were 1” taller,34.3”, and I had to put 34.75” in to get the speedometer to read correctly. YMMV

I just re-set my tire size, followed all the prompts in the app.

I now have every damn light under the sun flashing on the dash. Speedo doesn’t work, service ABS light is illuminated, parking sensors don’t work, service 4wd light is on.

Any ideas how to get back to square one so I can try this again?

Absolutely. Do the ABS initialization. When you get that done, run the code scan and delete any codes that show up.

Vehicle has to be on level ground.

Don't disagree, but it's literally mentioned in every thread about changing tire size with both JScan and AlfaOBD. ;)

Change size, clear codes, init ABS.
Call me crazy, but I was confident following the instructions provided by JScan.

Never again, apparently.

I don’t disagree but I get nervous doing this stuff. I started taking screenshots during the process so I could see exactly what I did and how I did it.

A quick question.... well maybe a few.....
I have the 2 plug "Y" adapter and V-Linker MX+ that I used on my 1500,
1) I'm assuming that I can use it on my new to me 2500 w/ the Cummins.... correct?
2) I have read that the plugs for this adapter are above the steering column.... if I plug the adapter in there, can I leave it plugged in ? The only time it would go to a dealer would be for warranty/ recall issues....
3) If it's ok to leave in, can the V-Linker stay plugged in too?
4) What, if any, problems could it cause?

I'm grateful for any tips or information.

What year truck?

25+ bus can't be modified (yet).

The 12+8 cable requires you to pull the EVIC (Cluster). Not advisable.

Get a proper HD style cable that plugs into the CAN-C and CAN-IHS that's on the left side kick behind the headlight bezel.

Recommended is KAOdTECH or the Infotainment cable from them or OBDGenie.

Leaving a bypass installed leaves the bus open to hacking, and I believe makes it much easier for thief's trying to clone your FOB, but if you're not worried about that... Particularly since JScan can program FOB now on 19-24 trucks.

Thanks for responding. I forgot the truck specifics..... 2024 Big Horn level 1 pkg, 2500 4x4, 6.7 L, 36K on the meter.
My initial thought was to get the KAOdtech, I'm not too keen on dismantling the cluster....

I live very rural and no fear of anyone cloning the FOB. We don't even lock the house.....
Out of the 2 suggestions, any preference?
