AlfaOBD

Hey all - Kaodtech bypass harness, can't for the life of me plug in the larger connector....? I'm now thinking wrong harness? The orange and black cable connector plugs into either block.....? Am I missing something? Or do they change **** when they ship these to us in Australia?
Wrong harness. Both should be small connectors.

The bypass you have is for a 1500 classic. You can get by with using that one by plugging the connector with orange and black wires into the double row junction block that is green with the black base. That will at least allow you to make car configuration changes in the BCM.

Need help with TPMS...
Truck was set at 60/80 PSI front rear. As it was just me hauling my butt, I didn't need 80 PSI on the back so I lowered the pressure and as expected I've got the light and the screen below on each start up telling me to pump up the rear tires. Finally got tired of it and purchased Alfa. Went ahead and set the lower pressures and the procedure went smoothly, HOWEVER....
The light is still ON and I still get this screen in my face every time I start a truck, EXCEPT now it's telling me to inflate the rear tires to the LOWER pressure than the tires currently are!
I tried dropping the rear tires pressure to below the set value (I set 40/30 PSI front rear), waited for the sensors to recognize the new, lower pressure, then pumping the rears up to 35PSI, this didn't fix anything.
Tried disconnecting batteries for a few hours hoping it would erase the light / message, it didn't help.

Anyone knows what's going on or had anything similar happened to them? How to fix it?
I did save the BCM config file to G-Drive in case I need to revert to it (not sure how though).

Thinking about it now I should have pump up the rears making sure the light and tire pressure warnings were off, and then changing the threshold, but too late now change was already made.

I'm back to work for a few weeks and will have limited access to specialty tools, I've got the MX+ interface and Alfa (Android version) with me, also have an air compressor. Anything I could try to fix it?

Also is there anything to change in AlfaOBD so it displays pressure in PSI, without switching a whole thing to US from Metric?
I like my kilometers and Liters but the pressure in kPa doesn't make sense to me.

You need to change the threshold numbers back to the original numbers, inflate the tires until there are no tire pressure warnings, then use alfaobd to lower the threshold numbers, then deflate down to where you want to be.

You can do that with the radio settings. Under units there is a custom option, choose that and select what you want.

Did exactly this and it didn't work. Changed settings back to 60/80 front / rear and then inflated to above that and light and warning went away. Then changed the thresholds back to where I wanted (40/30 front / rear) and dropped the pressure to 50/40 and the light with warning were right back. Just as before it's telling me to inflate to the lower pressure than the current pressure. Something is off.

You reset the rf hub, correct?

Just so there is no confusion, I'm doing it on my 2015 truck, not sure if this makes any difference. I don't use a security bypass cable as those were not needed until 2018 as far as I know.

On pre-2019, you need to reset the rf hub for threshold changes. Connect to the radio frequency hub, read the PIN, then use the PIN to perform the rf hub reset.

All this is done through AlfaOBD?
I will need to read more on this, thanks for the heads-up.

I was finally able to get my truck back into the dealership where they could get me into a loaner,
Took it to the dealer for the SCCM recall. Took them awhile but they were finally able to get it to download the update.

They said they wouldn't have time to troubleshoot my error code, but I asked them to just try and delete the codes to get the error message to go away. They came back and said the same thing AlfaOBD was telling me: there are codes in the BCM that will not clear because they say the fault is present.

Has anyone ever heard of anybody using AlfaOBD trip a fault code in the BCM that won't clear? I don't think there is any way I could have broken something simply by changing two lines of code. If the problem were just code related, then reverting the two changes back to the OE settings should resolve that, correct? Especially binary code. It's either Yes or No. No grey area.

I had to make an appointment to bring back my truck when they had more time to troubleshoot it. As far as I am concerned, if something failed and needs to be replaced, that should be done under warranty. I didn't do anything.
Finally able to get my truck back into the dealer to look at so that they could get me a loaner to drive. Advisor says that the tech says that they unplugged my FITCAMx dash cam and error message went away. I find that little hard to believe since I had that dash cam installed before I even put the DRVM in, and even when I later added the DRVM, I ran for 4+ months with no error message just fine.

Only until I made those two changes in AlfaOBD (to get the exterior auto dim mirrors to come back) did the error message come up. (Reverting the 2 changes back to where they were did not get the error message to go away.) I've asked the tech to call me back and verify that the error message is out of the BCM when they have it unplugged, but I have my doubts. Supposedly, they plug the dashcam back in and the error message comes back. Having a hard time believing this. Does this make sense to anyone else?

Has anyone had any luck updating the engine hours after swapping out a instrument panel gauge cluster? I was able to change the odometer, but it doesn't want to take the engine hours i am entering.

Alfaobd can’t do it.
