Jump Seat to Console Swap Process

Will the console out of a 1500 fit in a 2500?
I have seen this asked quite a bit across the different threads and forums. The answer to my knowledge is no they are slightly different w/ different part numbers in the Mopar parts catalogue.

I wonder what the differences are on them!!

Thank you for the reply.

Does anyone know the part number to the rear mounting bracket? The one one infotainments website is wrong.

How does that jumpseat rear panel come off? Trying to add an outlet as well?

I have the jump seat and would love to swap for a console, if anybody is looking to go in the opposite direction. Currently traveling around Oregon.

Jump seat to center console swap. I'm still not done, just test fitting and checking wiring circuits.

My findings: it's a 100% plug and play swap, you don't have to buy the infotainment harness, you don't have to pull your USB hub wiring and stretch it to fit. You don't have to unplug the console mounted USB hub wiring.

Leave the factory dash mounted rectangle USB hub connector unplugged, just plug the USB plug in from the factory dash harness.

The factory harness from the console plugs right into the dash connection.

Still waiting on some hardware and console bolt caps to finish the swap.

Do you have USB on back of console? Do they work?

Do you have any plug in the "H" shaped plug on the console then? This is the one infotainment attaches from under the drivers seat right?
Leave the console mounted USB hub connected. The "H" shaped plug and single USB are all you need to plug in.

I removed and disconnected my jumpseat harness. These trucks that have consoles use a 12" long jumper harness to go from under the dash to the console.

Thank you for the help! I'm not really familiar with this process. What are you referring to as you removed the jumpseat harness? The wiring harness under driver seat?

The jump seat plug(H) is the 12" harness that is already currently under dash? Or where are you getting it from?

The wiring harness from the dash to under the drivers seat, that's the jumpseat harness.

In OEM Center console trucks, they came with a 12" jumper harness from the console to the dash plug.

That makes since. So did you just order the 12" jumper to make it work?
