Jump Seat to Console Swap Process

That makes since. So did you just order the 12" jumper to make it work?

It's come with every console I've purchased so far. I'd imagine it can be purchased at the dealer.

Purchased a 24 2500 4x4 tradesman with equipment package and tow package includes the 12 inch. I am attempting to swap the jump seat for a trx shifter console I purchased on marketplace. I cant thank you enough for all the information provided up to this point on the build. However I am attempting to have the shifter work in place of rotational shifter on dash. The plugs are different and I have not found any information anywhere lol. I will be diving more into it throughout this week but any help with wiring diagrams or related forums and posts would be greatly appreciated. Will upload and post updates along the way for those wanting to attempt the same.

Does anyone have the part numbers for the dash panel closeouts required?

These are the parts you need for the black interior, listed below is every part required for a jumpseat to console swap.

Jumper harness needed, this works for 2023-2024 trucks. The Infotainment jumper harness is absolute trash and doesn't power / allow half the stuff to operate correctly.

Thank You!!!

I have the jump seat and would love to swap for a console, if anybody is looking to go in the opposite direction. Currently traveling around Oregon.
Still need a console? I need a jump seat. Have a Laramie trim 2022

Ok for future Searches. I have a 2022 Ram 3500. My truck came with the jump seat. I was able to find someone locally that wanted a jump seat in exchange for their center console. We met up and made the swap. A few notes for anyone looking to do this. The truck the other gentleman had was a 2020 2500. Both had Laramie trims.
1. I had to get bolts for the rear bracket as when we swapped He gave me extra bolts but they did not fit my truck. I went to local store got two Stainless M8 1.25 thread bolts. Fit perfectly.
2. When I made the swap I pulled the cable out from under the drivers seat where the existing H Cable hooked up to. I pulled it to the opening in the carpet where the old jump seat used to be. I did not need to buy the infotainment cable as I was able to just re route the existing one. It met up and hooked up to the Console wiring perfectly.
3. Here is where my first problem began, I hooked up the existing H cable where it went, but than I went and hooked up the USB cable from under my dash that hooked up to the original USB Hub, smaller of the two connectors, to the console wiring. When I started my truck it appeared that my radio was frozen and would not boot past the RAM logo. Through trial and error what I discovered was that when I left existing console wiring hooked up to the USB Hub on the console side it froze the radio. So I had to unhook the console wiring from the Hub, and stretch (which barely is long enough) the two cables from the original hub and plug them in.
4. Charging front hub and back seat hub work perfectly. However, I did not have anything to connect to the USB hub to see if it would populate on the radio. My phone would not show connected when selecting USB 1-3 on the radio for source. Not a big deal for me as I always connect via bluetooth. I am still able to charge my phone as needed.
5. The original 120V AC port was mounted to the dash. The new one is mounted inside the console. The original wiring for the plug could not reach the console plug. So I left that connected to the consoles wiring. During testing it worked flawlessly, So it draws power from the H connector

I hope this helps someone that is or will be going through the same thing.

Trying to piece together here to swap for my 2022 2500. Aside from the list of brackets, screws and panel closeouts from @Musclelogic, are any harnesses required? Big Horn truck getting a Big Horn console, no CD player or rear seat controls. I've seen the infotainment harness, I also saw a factory harness posted above. Not sure exactly what to get. It sounds like all the factory wiring will reach where they need to go

Do you happen to know if this is the same for the 4500/5500? I am not sure if I can use the console from a 2500/3500 but I absolutely cant find a 5500 console if they aren't compatible. Sorry to jump on an old comment but I have been reading all these threads and you are SO HELPFUL.

Do you have the part# from the new console harness you bought? I already completed the entire swap, but none of the outlets work I'm just using the one above the radio system. I also have a manual transfer case for anybody wondering it is possible, and you can bend the shift handle to get it to stick out of the side. I can post pictures if wanted.
Did you ever get around to getting any pics of that install?

Been thinking about attempting this project. The floor shifter is certainly the primary obstacle for me here, but looking at center consoles on ebay there seems to be a ton of different versions, which can make it tricky to find the version you need. Since I have a power wagon, its even less common so I might get a Big Horn version since those are more common

Far as I can tell, heres the differences available.
  • Color
    • Black is most common, but tan/brown available on the Limited Longhorn I think
  • Side Trim Pieces
    • Either Plastic (common) or Leather Wrapped (on Limited, Limited Longhorn, Top Trim Package Laramie and Power Wagon)
      • Plastic ones in variety of colors. (As far as I can tell):
        • Silver - Big Horn
        • Gold-Silver - Laramie
        • Dark Silver - Laramie Night Edition, Power Wagon (May not be the same, cant tell from pictures)
    • Metal accent trim strip in various colors (matches the trim around the vents):
      • Silver Matte (Painted plastic?) - Big Horn
      • Silver Satin Metal - Laramie
      • Machined Dark Grey/Anthracite Metal- Power Wagon
      • Matte Gold-Silver Metal - Longhorn Limited (Maybe Same as Limited?)
      • "Titanium" Silver Metal - Limited
  • Armrest
    • Basic Leather - Big Horn
      • Looks like this one has plastic lining on the armrest storage, higher trim ones appear to have flocked interior
    • Leather With Ram Logo - Laramie and Lower Trim Versions of Power Wagon
    • Leather With Special Trim Emblem (eg: "Limited", "Power Wagon", "Longhorn Limited")
  • Front Panel
    • Centered USB Ports or Offset USB ports
    • If Offset USB, has space a little storage pocket or CD Player on the left
    • With or Without RamCharger (Only available with offset usb port configuration, I think)
    • With or Without 115V AC Plug
  • Rear Panel
    • With or Without 115V AC Plug
    • With or Without USB Ports
    • With or Without Heated/Ventilated Rear Seat Controls
    • Bigger storage pocket here if none of these things are present
  • Rear Trim Piece
    • Lots of versions....wood, hydrodipped plastic, etc... Matches the piece of trim above the radio.
  • Sliding Cupholders
    • Limited and Longhorn Limited Cupholders have little flip-up covers in trim color that create a flat surface over the cupholders when not in use
      • This makes the sliding cupholder thing about 1” deeper overall/reduces the max fill height of console below by about 1”

Center console acquired. It’s a bastard console that (according to the VIN), was a Chrysler ASG (Automotive Sciences Group) as a test mule. It was a Laramie Level 2, but has the darker “Night Edition” Laramie side trim panels with chrome trim; and the rear metal trim is black chrome from a Power Wagon, but the wood trim is Laramie.

I won’t clutter this thread with update posts, and I don’t know how long it will take me to get this project done…or if it’s actually possible with the floor shifter …but I’ll try and post my final information back here once I get it installed (or not…)

In the mean time, I’ll try and share more info in my build thread:

Bit of info to share:

If, like me, you don’t have heated/vented rear seats, you may want the blank panels for the rear controls rather than having buttons that don’t work, if you get a console that has the buttons.
The blanks are stamped with PNs: (LH)76533 and (RH)76532 but these didn’t turn up any results on Google so I’m not sure if they are purchasable from Mopar.

1) You can find them on eBay or some other parts recycler. But using smart search terms you can find them like I did even if they are not listed with real part numbers. Cost was $50 for the pair, YMMV.

2) You can buy 3D printed blank panels. They are only $25. I don’t love the texture of these so I went OEM.

It looks like there's a spot for another button beside the heated seat buttons. Do you happen to know what would be there? I do know that there isn't a cooled/ventilated seats option for the rear seats, but maybe something else?

Yes that would be for vented seats

What year did that get added as an option? I've done alot of research for seat mods and have never come across anything about vented rear seats...
It didn’t get added. The two extra spots are for the ventilated seats buttons on a 1500, since they share those parts.

That's why it doesn't look familiar... Thanks.
Edit: I misread this and thought you meant this was a console from a 1500. Just shared parts between 1500s and HDs though.
