How do you use jscan to program the fob? Want to add remote start but not pay the dealer $80 to program the key.
 
follow the red markings to pull pin

once you pull the pin, go back one screen and choose the fobik program option. then follow directions.
 
I'm seeing some chatter that AlfaOBD may soon have it working as well, but for the price of Jscan it doesn't hurt to have another tool in the kit and some of the usage is simpler for the beginner.
 
Cheapest way is to open up your remote and solder in the required buttons. You don't get a fancy looking cover, but you get remote tailgate drop immediately, and remote start after changing the settings with AlfaOBD
 
Anyone have a link or picture of the resistor needed? Did a search and there are several types of 1k ohm.
 
I just bought a simple 1 ohm resistor like this .. and soldered it inline to a wire that I used to ground the hood sensor circuit ...

You were able to program a new Key Fob to your 2022 RAM 3500 ?? And it works ?? I thought anything 2019 or later had to be done at the dealer ... even JSCAN documentation says it can't do anything later than 2018. Did they come out with a new version that can do it ?

Jscan can now retrieve the PIN and program FOB on the HD trucks. They're still working on the 5th gen 1500's.

Back when I did my Remote Start enablement I had bought two OEM RAM Key Fobs so I could move all the necessary parts over and solder the micro switches onto my original remotes. I had done the parts swap and solder on one of the remotes and didn't mess with the other one. I just purchased the JSCAN license and successfully programmed my other OEM key FOB to my truck ... Sweet .. and thanks Brutal_HO and JSCAN !

Yeah it pulled the pin and programed the key.

Did you look to see if your hoodlatch has the switch or not? My 2020 Tradesman had it already installed.
 
One more question. What terminal connector are you using to add the wire to the factory plug. I did see 20awg is fine for the wire but didn't see what type of connector is used. I want to make sure I have everything before I tear it apart.

Found the connector KOSTAL 32124734123000-L but can't find them instock or without requiring me to purchase way more than I would ever need. Does anyone have any they would be willing to part with?
