Adding adaptive cruise

Nope. Not exactly sure where to go from here. Only thing I can personally think of is another DASM. Since this has clearly worked for others. I watched the tech go exactly through the process as outlined. I must have checked my AlfaOBD settings 5-6 times. The calibration worked fine as I watched as the tech drove. So clearly the DASM was communicating on the bus and wiring/etc are fine.

Eventually I had to switch a few settings back just to have regular cruise control. Went on a short trip with the camper this weekend and at least wanted that.

Hoping to give it at least one more go before I try another DASM.

I'll let you know in a couple of weeks once they try the Calibration on mine. I have a 2020 2500 and a used DASM supposedly from a 2020 with 12000 miles, so hopefully no mismatch.

Ok everything is installed. By far the hardest part was the new steering wheel switch, specifically removing the air bag. I’ll move on to Alfa and am doing the learning procedure next.

@Jimmy07

I have a tradesman with basic mirror. Nothing else ever attached the windscreen. Now I have all this installed I’ll be enabling the Alfa settings from your post #23 in this thread to enable active cruise and FCW.

Are these the correct settings to enable the rain sensor as I never had one: https://hdrams.com/forum/index.php?threads/add-automatic-wipers.5802/post-203198

To enable auto high beams are these the correct 3 settings?
2014 CBC Config I/O & Feat: Auto High Beam Module Location - IRCM

CustSetMenu 1: Auto High Beam CSM Present - Yes

VehConfig 1: Auto Highbeam- YES

Is there anything else that can be enabled for additional features?

Ok so after just doing the AlfaOBD changes for the ACC, I still need to calibrate it, no check engine lights when driving. But hitting the two cruise control on buttons the car beeps and the dash goes black. As if it’s meant to display a message but isn’t. Is my basic dash screen going to be sufficient for this mod or do I need the larger color screen? Just wondering why it’s not showing me anything when it beeps. I’d expect it to say it needs calibration or something.IMG_4420.jpeg

Those settings will get you auto high beams.
For rain sensing wipers (assuming you installed the correct rain sensor):
VehConfig 2: Rain Sensor Present- YES

2014 CBC Config I/O & Feat.: Rain Sensor Module #2 Present- NO

2014 CBC Config I/O & Feat.: Humidity Sensor Long Present- YES

LIN and Misc: Humidity Rain Light Sensor Present- YES

CustSetMenu 1: Rain Sensitive Wipers CSM Present- YES

I’m not sure if it’s absolutely necessary to have the 7” cluster for ACC/FCW to function, but you won’t be able to see the ACC distance settings, the ACC main animation screen, or the FCW off tell tail lights.

thanks. Time to look into what a 7” upgrade entails :)
Straight up plug n play swap, and mileage correction with AlfaOBD. The engine hours can’t be corrected with AlfaOBD.

You’ll want to find a 2021+ cluster in order to maintain the trailer light check feature.
And it can’t be a cluster from a 1500.

ill look around. I need a gasoline one and one from 21-22. Only found one and it was from a 2019 after contacting seller. They don’t look to be easy to come by. But it does look like it’s required to continue with this ACC install.

What is the meaning of Vehicle Configuration Mismatch fault in the DASM? Did a calibration and that’s now my “only” fault in the DTC
Usually it’s because either the VIN doesn’t match (the RF Hub is the master VIN, all other VINs must match it’s VIN), or there is actually a VehConfig setting that conflicts with other VehConfig settings.
After the calibration, what is the current VIN in the DASM?

Double checked my Alfa settings and even re-ran calibration. Vin matches in the DASM. In WiTech under DASM Configuration see settings attached.

Suspect without the larger screen I can’t see what error the car is telling me. It beeps at startup and the Messages display shows but it’s blank. New lights in the small display related to cruise control but no messages are visible.

EDIT: @Jimmy07 why would my DASM think LDW Plus is present when I don’t have that? See screenshot.

Something going on with ACC present being false. Can I get a copy of your AlfaOBD BCM system ID and backup file to look over?
Same with yours @jrf

When using a used DASM does going into plant mode first, clear the VIN in the DASM, or does the miss match error remain and can be ignored?

Vehicle Configuration Mismatch can not be ignored. It needs to go away before ACC functions. It could occur due to a used DASM not having its data updated by Entering Plant Mode or for still unknown reasons, the situation I’m in currently. Trying to determine how to clear mine currently.

How do you see Vehicle Configuration Mismatch error? I don't see it with a code reader like OBDlink. Does it ony show up with WiTech?

Yes I have WiTech. It doesn’t cause a check engine light but when it’s there it causes the car to not enable ACC or FCW, this is documented in tech authority. So if you had the mismatch then those functions wouldn’t work. Car detects a mismatch, so it disables those functions.

Suspect there is a setting in the BCM that has been overlooked. I have a base tradesman so maybe some setting other cars don’t need enabling as it’s there by default but maybe not on mine.

Basically, follow the steps outlined and if it works, great! If not then we we need to figure it out :) only a few are having the issue though.

DASM is working otherwise as auto high beams works a treat.

Random question but hope for some feedback:
For anyone that has completed this modification and its working, do you have a heated steering wheel?
Has anyone completed this that does not have a heated steering wheel?

Sorry if this becomes totally irrelevant but curious as I try to diagnose my issue with this.
