I think back in the pre covid days, there was no waiting 4-6 months for a truck. The dealers had tons of truck in stock that could appease most buyers and if not the order process was at most a 2-3 month affair so tracking a build wasn't a real concern because they could stick with the timeline pretty easily in most cases. Now with no dealer stock, we are all stuck ordering for the most part as it's the best way to avoid paying well over MSRP for a truck that is in stock. They aren't equipped to provide good tracking data and it's frustrating as hell especially when your an optimistic idiot like me and sold your truck already based on what the dealer told me when I could expect my truck.
Yep. When I ordered my 2017, it was just under two months from start to finish. Fast forward five years and my 22 took twice as long. The variations in build times, parts and option availability, and shipping delays is most certain frustrating, especially for those folks who seem to stuck in the twilight zone and are waiting over 6 months with no information and no movement.
