Just ordered my 20 HD HO

Well I have the latest update on my build model. She is actually pin the build line after just 2.5 wks after ordering now. The way ram chat describes it as being is , its built but waiting on all the options to be installed. I guess that means somewhere in stage 4 process. Does anyone have any further explanation of whay they might mean. To say the least, I'm super stoked

Just downloaded my build sheet, about 11 pages long. Guess I'll go through an make sure it all looks right. No window sticker yet though, I guess that comes after build is finished

Stage 4 : is when they take the truck out on the Mexican desert for a drive, to make sure that the suspension works fine and the bodywork doesn't fall apart !! ;)
Stage 5 : (tomorrow) ….... it's "Tacos Wednesday" !!! Nothing happens in Saltillo Mexico, it's a National Holiday !! :D Hehee…..

Wednesday was always buy one get one on margaritas for me but I'm not from Mexico neither. But now I'm craving a taco salad, thanks.

Hell yah, just got to blow the Mexican sand out of my brakes first

You should have seen how filthy was mine when it arrived at the dealership !!

Oh he'll NO, I'll be P.O.. I hoping among all hopes that it don't come damaged. I've read allot of horror stories. I could probably deal with a small option not getting installed but if its damaged, its going back. Of coarse from what else I've also read is that if its damaged, the dealer will prob fix it before I get there an ill never know. BA@$!%DS

Start hanging out there and eating their donuts and drinking their coffee, etc. They might even buy you lunch to leave.

Oh trust me. I am the long running joke around there because I negotiated with my salesman for 6 months. Started on a 19, made the deal then the factory came up short on parts as the year ran out. Then we communicated back an forth for a month then started over again on the 20 model. I was 900 miles away, so when we made the deal, we went in to meet everyone an get all warm An fuzzy an shake hands. As soon as we walked through the door they all new us by name. Said they never have someone stick it out that long an wear down a salesman. It was hilarious, an embarrassing.

So I take it, most negotiations were done from afar via email or phone? I think I may have found what I want......1100 miles away!

I never step foot into a dealership until I negotiate my deal.

I didn't even "have" to go in for the order, but wanted to sit down with them and see the same screens they see. I could have done the order over a Webex.

When I bought my last car, I went to the dealership to sign the papers and pick it up. My current truck, I made a broker find me a deal and got way more than I expected for my trade that they also shopped.

If you go car shopping, and step foot into the dealership, you're going to lose.

Yup, I agree, you have to wear them down over time with back an fourths. Mine was all done over email, never even called. We travel fulltime in our RV, so when we committed to a deal, we rerouted an worked our way toward the dealership. My salesman did tell me that if we did meet ,so that way his bosses knew 100% that i was serious than he could show me some leniency on some things , like ( no down payment, free tube step ups, free 60 gal fuel, 400 off my 30k hitch, oil changes, etc) . So we figured since they were going to commit to all that an also commit to a, perfect condition an above best trade value online for my current truck just based off if pictures I sent them . They didn't even inspect it when we got there. So when we meet we were there for probably 45 min just shooting the bull an told him we'd see him in a few months. He asked me to not put to many miles on the current ride, but i had already worked into the deal that the trade value was going to be based on an extra couple thousand miles being on it by the time they take ownership.

Well holy mackerel. Just got another update. They said I'm currently in JS status, wich she said means it awaiting inspections before it gets an eta for shipment. I've read that this stage is like prison, but i hope they go over it, an overit, an over it again. I can't believe that in 1 wk they built that custom truck, it's not like it's a ugo or Saturn or to you younger guys an galls a prius. Thats insane.

I hope with the delays created by the 68RFE trans, they had more time to inspect all these 3500 HO's.

My 04.5 is a peach, I'm scared to death the 2020 won't be as perfect.

I've got the aisin so I'm hoping the rfe is a different plant. Probably all the same inspectors though, who knows. You better of not of jinxed us brutal

I think they all get staged on the same line. They build them in batches of similar trim levels based on meeting a defined order qty and where there JIT parts staging is. That's the way the dealer Sales GM explained it to me. According to him, my Limited got into a group that was near the magic number for launch so the build started quicker than he anticipated.

Interesting. Well as bad as I want it, i would rather it go through extensive testing than not an i have to deal with a lemon later. You just hope that it's just not sitting there out of site out of mind.

Can someone remind me at what point will our window sticker be available on build models by using the posted link where you add your vin at the end

Around 24-48 hours after the build is complete and it's invoiced.
