The only good part bought a colonoscopy was the anaesthesia . Keep in mind that I'm retired an have as much time as i need to wear them down, were it's normally the opposite. I got 13k off of 83k truck, down to 69,999 on a fully loaded 20 Laramie with absolutely everything you can put on one. As far as the trade, i did my research on kbb, nada, car gurus an several other vin value guides. My current vehicle is in immaculate perfect condition with low miles. So I would always punch in all my options an choose the highest trade value but making mental notes on private party sale. So you know of coarse they always low ball yah. I just held firm on what I had to have an I kept telling them to go back in an put all the options in an take the perfect condition trade with very low miles. 6 months ago when we started, I got them to a good price of between perfect trade value an private party sale. We'll now, an 5000 more miles they started over on the value process an I told them if they didn't back there previous offer then were done. They emailed me everyday for the next 4 days asking if I had a change of heart an eventually they broke an caved. ME WIN . Also my values were
poor trade 28,500. Tgey srarted by offering 29 k
Perfect td 34,000. They ended up giving 35,500 with 5k more miles
Pvt party. 37,000
That trade is onlya16 model tradesman crew. So it held its value pretty good
I had pretty much the same experience as you did Rich, with the trade in and all that.
We live in San Jose CA (Bay Area), and all the dealerships around here will have no more than 1 or 2 dually's in stock at any point and time.
So, we decided to take a drive about 1 and 1/2 hour away (Stockton, CA), to shop for a new truck.
As we walked around this incredibly large overflow parking lot (were the dealership keeps stock of all their commercial vehicles and their new pick up trucks inventory) we walked up to this black "sport" Laramie, crew cab, 4x4, DRW with long bed.
The vehicle just arrived the previous day and was filthy dirty, the front hub caps and the rear fenders moldings were not yet installed.
After a 45 minute search for the key fob: we finally got into the truck, to find out that it was still on "ship mode" ( 12" radio was off, all truck settings were disabled, camera's offline..... and so on). Regardless the sipping mode, we took it for a test drive (and I knew immediately that I was going to take his baby home! ), it only had 2.5 miles on the odometer.
To make a long story short: they called in an off duty technician to switch off from "ship mode" , and we started "hours" of negotiations !!
After 7 long hours at the dealership, we finally left with the new truck by 10:15 PM !! By the time we got home and had dinner: we went to bed way past midnight, we were both exhausted !!
For the following 3 days I went to work with the old truck, leaving the house at 5:45 am and returning from work at 6:30 pm. It was during the first week of November and by then I still didn't had a chance to see the truck during daytime yet.
On the 4th day: I got off from work at noon time with the lamest excuse ever, just to go home to finally see my new truck under the sun !! LOL !

I couldn't wait any longer !!
