2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

From what I can get out of a Schedule I see a vessel leaving Port Altamira on March 5th with my truck on it, and shows it to be in Port Brunswick on March 9th. After the unload is the long wait of get your truck from the port to the dealer by a hauler, unless you are close to the port. I was told my truck would be at the dealer by the end of March.
My truck has the same 2 ports but on the track sheet it has an estimated 45 days on the ocean. I believe the long wait is actually the boat just hanging out off shore waiting on its turn to get unloaded at the port.

I just got done having that conversation about the 8 speed. Drove a Cummins yesterday and was thinking about the 8 speed in the hemi the whole time. I’m searching far and wide to find one close to what I ordered on a lot somewhere. I don’t want to order again and start over but I’m at 8 weeks and still not built and now I know I have a long boat ride in the way too so it’s either going to be start over with another order or buy off a lot. I really did like the way the hemi felt on the test drive compared to the Cummins, but it sure is hard to get over that Cummins sound lol
Hi @Swampfox , are looking for a 2022 2500 with Hemi (8 speed)? If so, I have one that I ordered on January 10 and got an email from FCA regarding it's projected arrival at the dealer in St. Louis in early April.
I'm not taking this one because I lost sight of the mission when I placed my order, and subsequently re-ordered on Jan 28. I can send you additional details if you're interested.

Sure! Send me what you ordered. I found one very close to what I ordered that is coming in in the next couple weeks but I’d like to see yours

@Swampfox - Sorry, I don't have the build sheet on email as I did it at the dealership. They knocked about $3k off MSRP when I placed the order....

Here are the details:2500 Laramie CC 4x4 6ft 4in box; Hemi, 8 sp, Billet Silver Metallic, Leather trimmed bucket seats (black), Adaptive Ateering System, Engine Block Heater (not sure why I ordered that), LED Bed Lighting, Off Road Package, Snow Chief Group, Mopar spray in bed liner.

I work on first hand knowledge so I appreciate everyone who weighs in on this forum. I really am torn on this truck decision because my hemi is coming by boat and I’m not very confident in my dealer. I have access to a few 2500 Cummins trucks one of which being the diesel equivalent to my order. I’m very torn on this decision because I could have the diesel truck in the blink of an eye but I ordered my hemi the exact way I want it for a reason. The main question , is it worth it to get the Cummins 2500 for the satisfaction of buy it now. Or is ot worth waiting on my hemi. I have a short work commute mon-fri and I work on the farm after work and on weekends hauling hay and feed. I pull a 7500lb camper for getaways with the family and we want to have the freedom to hit the mountains or the beach or go on a long haul from SC to NM if we want. I stay local for the most part and I work in a factory for a living so I’m not a rich man. Any input is more than appreciated. Y’all help me figure out what to do. My hemi order is 58k the diesel equivalent truck is 75k and the other diesel trucks are all about 65k.
Completely happy with my Hemi, if i had something heavy to tow and quite often then I would opt for the diesel

Has anyone ordered a Laramie with bench front seats? If so, I would love to see some pictures posted. I am on the fence.
Another thing to consider:
If you get the bench seat, then the a/c vents in the back are on the floor. If you have kids who throw their bags and coats on the floor, the vents get blocked. Or if you keep your own stuff back there, those vents tend to get blocked.
Vents on the floor are going to have a harder time to blow air up to the rear passenger’s faces and torsos.

Finally, I haven’t seen it happen, but I would imagine that being on the floor, those vents are prone to get hit with something or kicked by peoples feet and they could easily get broken.
With a center console, those rear vents are raised up about a foot off the back floor. Just under the driver’s and front passenger’s elbow rests.

@OfficerDirtySanchez the google doc spreadsheet shows my status as “kzu?” on 2/23. Just curious what that means, especially the “?”
Is there question or concern that I made it to the yard, and if so, based on what?

Edit; upon looking i see other statuses with the “?” Curious what causes/drives the question.

Thx!

I have a Laramie with the bench that I just picked up about a week ago. What pics do you want to see? It's dark now, but I can get whatever you want tomorrow morning.

Yep. The info is easily accessible. They should either know the product, or admit when they don’t and seek answers from the manufacturer. Start with a basis of knowledge and then check / reaffirm prior to submitting, especially with all the package and option changes. The info is out there and easy to obtain. It doesn’t get much clearer than this for a place to start:

I feel that Sandi with Mark Dodge was pretty transparent with us. I asked how I could be sure that our price wouldn’t shoot up, and she explained to me, in an email, that our price would be protected.

I ran into one snag with the build as DRWs come with chrome side steps, and the Longhorn Level 1 comes with deployable steps. Try as I might, I couldn’t remove the chrome, and the images on the site showed the electric steps, so I pushed through and both ended up on the POC. About two weeks later I asked the question here and with Sandi and found out I would’ve been SOL and electric steps had I not caught it. Luckily I was still in D and Sandi said the correction request had been honored and would not affect my “protected price”, all this via email.

One thing I learned the hard way in the Navy is GET IT IN WRITING. I grew up in the Texas country where your word is bond, and figured each time a superior told me something it was good to go. I can’t tell you how many times I was let down only to hear, do you have it in an email?

*** LATE NOTE ON THIS TOPIC *** I had a friend who had been eyeing a new '20 Wrangler during the summer of 2020 have the vehicle sold right out from under him, but the young salesman who had double booked this vehicle had been making promises via text mind you. When Jason drove the two hours from Jacksonville to Orlando only to not get his Jeep he was upset to say the least, so he contacted the sales manager and explained what had happened. He was called back into the dealership at his earliest convenience to speak with the owner. He ended up sitting down a couple days later with the owner and the salesman, and the owner asked if he had all these guarantees made by the salesman in writing. Jason showed the owner the texts, the owner just looked over at the salesman with complete disgust, and said he would make it right. Everything the salesman had promised him was put on order at a ridiculously low price, and when he went to sign for it...he noticed they were ordering him a '21.

Again, GET IT IN WRITING!!!

I checked on the status of my 12/31 build. The dealership states an estimated build date of 3/21, currently in D status. Looks like I'm in for a long wait. We have a 2 week 5th wheel RV trip to Smokey Mountains in June. I hope the stars align and I get it in less than 3 months!

Can someone double-check the build status for me?

Here are a few picks. More so for leg room and extra cup holder. Not really feasible for an adult, maybe one of my kids would fit.
Don't you like the fact because its a third seat they added an extra cup holder? But when the seat is occupied none of the cup holders are available for use..... lol

I know this isn't the correct thread and I understand if it gets moved, but I ordered a 2022 Big Horn and still haven't figured out how to get the interior lighting to come on when I open the doors at night. No overhead lights, no foot well lights, nothing. I'm climbing into a dark vehicle with no lights until I start the truck and have dash lights. anyone with a Big Horn have any ideas?

Isn’t it controlled by the switch on the overhead console? Should be a switch on the left side that shows a door open and says “off”. The manual calls it a “dome defeat” button. If that doesn’t work, then perhaps you have your interior illumination roller switch turned all the way down. There’s two roller style switches on the left side of the dash just to the left and below steering column. One controls the intensity of the instrument lighting, the other controls the interior illumination and accent lights.

For reference and more info see page 58 of the owners manual

How did you find out which ship your truck is on?
