2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

Must have won the lotto. Less than 10 weeks from order to delivery. Picked up my truck today. 2500 Laramie CTD, fully loaded minus BSM as it was not available for the trim at the time. Timeline as follows:

Ordered 12/21
D1 1/4
Build sheet 2/10
Window sticker 2/12
KZT 2/15 or 2/17
Delivered 2/25 to Mark Dodge

Seems like things are picking up. Hoping everyone gets their trucks soon. As previously mentioned by many, A1 experience with Mark Dodge start to finish. Also, thanks to everyone in the forum that helps with tracking and just good info. Here are some photos from the dealer. Will post some more once the weather is better and tints are done. I fell ya @Swampfox
I wanted a newer better truck than our 2011 half ton gasser w/ 1480 lb payload to haul our 7500lb camper. 2500 Limited or Laramies with Cummins have payload in the 1800 lb range. only 320 pounds more!?!
No way am I going to a 3500 for only towing 1,000 miles per year.
Hemi gives more payload. Less stress about def, dpf, and limp mode that I have experienced first hand.
The icing on the cake was the 8 spd transmission with the Hemi. If the Cummins had the 8 spd I’d probably would have ordered a lower trim diesel truck.

3500 is not much more expensive than 2500 and it comes standard with Limited Slip where you have to add as an option on 2500. Main difference is leaf springs on 3500 vs coil springs on 2500. I jumped from a 2015 2500 to a 2022 3500 and love the 3500.
The price is not the hard part. My area has 2500’s everywhere but very rare to see a 3500.

I just got done having that conversation about the 8 speed. Drove a Cummins yesterday and was thinking about the 8 speed in the hemi the whole time. I’m searching far and wide to find one close to what I ordered on a lot somewhere. I don’t want to order again and start over but I’m at 8 weeks and still not built and now I know I have a long boat ride in the way too so it’s either going to be start over with another order or buy off a lot. I really did like the way the hemi felt on the test drive compared to the Cummins, but it sure is hard to get over that Cummins sound lol

And I want a five passenger (console) AND Ramboxes. You almost never see both on a dealer's lot "NEW." I actually found one, in Montana, that almost checks off all my boxes, BUT, doesn't have anti-slip differential?
I have mostly been looking at 1500's and noticed they do things differently in the 2500's. It does have limited slip but it is associated with the off road package and not separate.

They’re D1, order placed 1/24/22 with an estimated ship date already. I’d say it’s too late to add something that technical unfortunately. This is another example of dealerships not clearly laying out all of the information prior to an order being signed and submitted.

Folks who are planning to order and are reading this:

Be sure to ask questions and confirm that the order will contain everything you want before you submit your order. These are unpredictable times and parts / chip supplies have wreaked havoc with availability of options. If you are ordering a truck and spending the money, make absolutely certain your truck will have everything in it that you want before you hand over your down payment and sign your POC (Priced Order Confirmation). In addition, I would check every bit of info your dealer is telling you with the good folks on this forum prior to signing. There have been numerous occasions where dealers are either A) unaware of the their product options, B) telling little white lies to secure sales hoping buyers will deal with the consequences after delivery, or C) are not being properly updated by Stellantis regarding trim / option / package changes. Get everything in writing and have it signed by both parties so that there is absolutely no confusion or surprises when the truck arrives. That way you have ground to stand on if your truck arrives and is not the way you planned / expected. That avoids the whole “he / she / they said this, promised this, assured this” scenario.

Do yourself a favor and do as much homework as you can before you sign!

I agree 100%. Many folks depend on the dealership to give them correct information without doing any research themselves then complain they didn't get what they wanted. These same folks live their life depending on others to guide them and then lay blame elsewhere when they didn't get what they wanted.

I spent 6 months researching trucks, equipment, engines, towing capability, financing, discounts, pricing, Invoice vs MSRP, EP Pricing, FFP Pricing, and the list goes on. When I walked into the dealership it took me less than 30 minutes to purchase the truck and place a deposit. I researched aftermarket equipment and already had a list of aftermarket items I wanted to purchase before I even took delivery of my new truck. I have the truck I wanted based on my financial abilities to pay minus Power Folding Mirrors which wasn't available when I placed my order due to chip shortages, but I knew this beforehand.

All the information needed is free for the taking given the Internet capabilities we have today. For the new members on this Forum, read, read, read and ask questions. There are many wonderful members on here such as "mbarber84" who are very capable of leading you in the right direction. He took delivery of his truck months ago, but still continues to assist others in their attempt to complete their purchase and take delivery. For those members who have joined the Forum but not yet purchased; Smart Move! Read and take notes! Know more than the dealership before you even walk on the lot. The dealer knew I came prepared when I opened up my notebook and started using terms associated with vehicle purchasing.

I wish you all the best of luck in your new vehicle purchase!

@Swampfox, I totally get it. I am very impatient as well. I ordered 1 week behind you, and as far as I know, I am not at D1 yet. The wait is tough. Here's the way I look at it...I ordered the truck the way I wanted. I was aware of the potential for a long wait time, yet I still placed my order and deposit. I assume you are the same way. I can only go from my perspective, but, It'll be worth the wait. Don't "settle" and get something you don't want. (No...I am not saying the Cummins is settling...just the entire situation isn't what you originally set out to get). There are also the financial side of things...like you mentioned...only you can weigh that in your decision. Good luck!!

That is very unfortunate and I am sorry you’re in that position. However, that being said: if you look at the totality of truck sales and compare the big three, Ram most definitely has their game together far more than the other two. Look at the number of trucks sold and delivered through Mark Dodge alone in the last four months. The Chevy and Ford dealers aren’t moving trucks like that because they can’t get them. Period. While I admit Ram has their own shortcomings and things they need to rectify (production of sold orders in priority being one of them), they absolutely have a better hold on this than the other two. I was driving a 2022 Ram in November of 2021, as were many many others, while Ford and Chevy were struggling to get 2021 trucks built and delivered in 2021.

Sadly I went to a GMC dealership and built a 3500 and they had it about 4 weeks later. It wasn't for me as I didn't lock it in and they just built and ordered it on chance if I didn't get it someone else would. It lasted less than 12 hours before it was sold. If they can build like that Ram has no excuse to do what they have done to my order and a few others.

Agreed. They need to build the sold orders at a better rate and a better order. Although it does seem like build and delivery times are improving.

I am very much the same way. Only problem is I wasn’t expecting it to ship by boat and from what I can tell it becomes a coin toss on whether it actually shows up or not. I think one guy waited almost a year and some guys still don’t have theirs. I was ready for the wait just not an open ended wait.

I checked on the status of my 12/31 build. The dealership states an estimated build date of 3/21, currently in D status. Looks like I'm in for a long wait. We have a 2 week 5th wheel RV trip to Smokey Mountains in June. I hope the stars align and I get it in less than 3 months!

Can someone double-check the build status for me?

I ordered a limited 3500 Nov 15. Was told it was completed and on a boat on Jan 28. Was just told that it is still on a boat and is expected to be taken off the boat in Brunswick GA on March 28. That is a two month boat ride from Mexico to Georgia. Has anyone else had their truck shipped by boat, and if so how long was it at sea?

My order is making the same boat ride to Brunswick but hasn’t been built yet. I was told to expect at least 2 months

Pickup complete, everything went smooth at MD. I couldn't be happier on how easy everything went.
Wish i could keep a truck that clean lol i live on 10 miles of dirt roads one way best i can hope for is a spring rain or use the power washer to hose’r off every now and then. Thats what i love about my 08 H2 just looks good muddy! Bada** truck man love it!

its my understanding, that people who ordered as early as April? last year, most were ordering 22's, They didnt start to build 22's until August if I am correct. So Ram had to catch up on all trucks that were ordered since April? (4 months of orders) or whatever the exact date was,. Seems logical to me that they have finally caught up on most of the 4 month backlog of orders and why new orders are going out so fast compared to months earlier. The people who have been waiting for 6 months or more should definitely be on priority though, I imagine a few orders fell through some cracks unfortuntely which shouldnt happen. But to see such long waits on the first 22's built was to be expected with such a long back log of orders they had to get out in these times.

Has anyone ordered a Laramie with bench front seats? If so, I would love to see some pictures posted. I am on the fence.
Here are a few picks. More so for leg room and extra cup holder. Not really feasible for an adult, maybe one of my kids would fit.

At one time I always liked the seat in the middle but once I had a Laramie with a council no way I will ever own a bench seat again

From what I can get out of a Schedule I see a vessel leaving Port Altamira on March 5th with my truck on it, and shows it to be in Port Brunswick on March 9th. After the unload is the long wait of get your truck from the port to the dealer by a hauler, unless you are close to the port. I was told my truck would be at the dealer by the end of March.
