2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

There is no site that you can use to track the train (unless you happen to be a business customer of the railroad).
You can either find someone who works for the railroad (or is a customer of the railroad), which is what i did, or you can call the automated system and input your railcar information and it will give you an updated location if there is one. I was fortunate enough to have a relative who works for CSX so I was able to use that connection to get regular location updates. A while back someone posted information about automated phone systems for the railroads. I guess it can be a little touchy and hard to understand in some situations, however I have tried it and it does work.

It`s also important to note that not all trucks are shipped by rail. Some are shipped by boat from ports in mexico to various US ports. If your truck is loaded on a ship, that too can be tracked, although that method DOES in fact use a website.

Where is your ordering dealer located? We can try to figure out where your train or boat is headed based on that info. I am assuming your truck has already hit shipping status?
I missed this the other day. My bad.

Truck is going to Baltimore. It’s on a train. I even have the car number. I believe it’s due in Baltimore around the 15th, but not positive.

Ok no worries. If so you’re probably on CSX then? You can call their automated system and get updated location info on the train. 1 (800) 235-2352

Follow the prompts: Location, car initials, car number, done

The automated system can be hard to understand sometimes and slow to update but it’s fairly straightforward.

so now that the truck is built, i know this can vary a lot, but what would my typical wait time be now if all goes good? Canadian order. 6 weeks?

Now I am playing the waiting game. Trucks been waiting for a truck to my dealer since 1/14. Anyone know of any holdups at lordstown ohio?

Just got an email from MD, they said truck made it to Louisiana but has not reached port yet, Aaron said probably get to the dealer by the end of February. I am not sure if I should start looking for a loan or wait until the truck gets there. Don’t want to get a loan and have the preapproval and then it expires.

Ordered back in sept 24, 2021 almost 7 month lol.

2022 limited SRW.

A couple of comments about my truck after a week and 300 miles: Friends and family who've ridden in at are very surprised at how quiet and smooth the ride is. They remember my 2011 F350 dually. You had to check your back teeth for loose kidney bits from time to time in that thing. My long bed Limited does not have the optional factory air bags, and came with 90 psi in the tires, and is very smooth for a heavy duty. You get wobbled around a bit on the bumps and railroad crossings but it is not jarring at all. I've taken the tire pressures down to 65 psi front and 80 psi rear, so it's a bit better yet. I told the wife if she thinks it's too rough when not towing that I'd swap out the wheels and tires to change from 20" to 18" but it looks like that won't be needed.
Cold weather and short trips are killing the fuel mileage, but I know that's going to improve as I pile on the miles. I'm glad I got the 50 gallon tank. That option tipped the scales to picking a long bed. The dealer spent about half the cost of the option when he filled it up for me.
This is why I purchased a 2022 RAM 2500 with factory air suspension. I didn’t like the F250 ride at all; noisy and harsh. The standard RAM 2500 ride was smoother and definitely quieter than the F250 but air suspension provided a noticeable improvement for us during test drives. Have about 2000 miles on it now. I find it pleasant to drive unloaded or towing a small auto hauler. Have yet to tow a heavy load. Running 18” wheels at 60 psi and 70 psi so far.

I see shipment dates aren’t set in stone, but has anyone figured that average time for completion after receiving your initial (ship) date?
