We like you visiting still. Tell your wife it’s because you have a ton of friends here.
I’ve been meaning to ask, how are you liking your truck and how many miles are on it.
It is incredibly nice, thanks for asking!
I think I’m about 3,500 miles so far. I have an 8 hour round trip haul tomorrow that should put me right about 4,000. Overall a significant upgrade from my 2017 and I thank myself every day for springing on the Longhorn. The interior impresses me every time I’m behind the wheel. So far my only real complaints, and they’re very minor, are:
1. The digital rearview mirror definitely creates a blind spot for the drivers forward vision, especially at intersections. Have to duck to make sure you’re clear.
2. The Aisin shifting seems vastly different than the 2017 I had previously. When not in tow - haul mode, the transmission has a tendency to want to hold gears a little longer than it should, and perceivably longer than the old truck. This is both in upshift and downshift scenarios, but is far more prevalent when a downshift is required. It also seems to get “lost” in slow moving scenarios such as railroad crossings where you’re in between 1st and 2nd. I chalk some of this up to the transmission still “learning”, however by this many miles, I’d assume it should be “taught” for the most part.
3. The UC5-12 is still a little glitchy. Some apps are more glitchy than others, while the weather app doesn’t seem to work hardly ever. The most recent software update did seem to improve the wireless apple CarPlay issues.
4. That annoying 3 horn beep when the key fob leaves the truck while running…..
