2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

The HO engine is the same with a different tune than the SO. The Aisin transmission weighs more than the 6 speed which reduces payload.

No it is not (entirely) the same engine.

The HO has lower compression to allow more boost and different fueling/timing from that higher tune. Suspected to be different pistons.

Right. I knew the engine weighed the same and the transmission was heavier. Wasn’t sure if there was any other components that were different. I thought I saw a video sometime ago when this generation of trucks was released that other components in the suspension were changed to withstand the torque of the HO engine

I read that as well. What I read it was the axle housing is something like 4” as opposed to 3.75 and the rear end is a 12” as opposed to 11.5”

Next week mark dodge is about to round up with stickers hopefully, but this is based off ship dates.. and all of their customers hate sunroofs. We having a party when we go get our trucks off the same truck?
I’m on that list lol and I love my sunroof!

I found the attached article that outlines some of the HO differences

Please consider Krown or Fluid Film. #noziebart

I know nothing about either of those companies and this isn’t something I’ll be doing myself. Simply just don’t have the time between work and two small kids

Windows tinted and the Baja fog light swap was done before transport pick up.

Chrome baby! Which model are those lights? They ain’t cheap…..
From what I have read, the factory fogs turn on each side with the turn signal for cornering if under 25MPH and the fogs are in OFF MODE, will those do the same?

Ziebart has the old style black asphaltic undercoat that they now call sound deadener and they also have a Krown/Fluid Film type of product that is not hailed as a sound deadener, instead it is just a rust proofing material. I would not say that Ziebart is bad, they have a product to fit the needs of the customer. They have also been in the game of fighting rust for decades longer than most others have existed. If you lived up here in the 60's and 70's and wanted a vehicle to last more than 5 or 6 years rust free... that black crap was the only way. It did buy time, it saved you years of rot free use. I do agree and have personally dealt with the issues with sub surface of product rust as the product eventually fails. And removal of the product in a home shop setting is extremely laborious and emotionally painful. But my 71 Chevelle likely still exists today due to the original owner having this black sludge applied. In the mid 80's I set out to remove it and paint the frame and it still lives in the painted condition today.

EP or Friends & Family both appear to be good deals - EP appears to be about same as Affiliate - I would be OK with any of those 3 compared to MSRP or $5000 upcharge over MSRP. As to what is invoice, I would ask to see the POC and if you are at FFP or better still close to EP, BE HAPPY.
The invoice price on my original POC was $520 over FFP price. Which I put a deposit down to make sure the price didn’t go up once it was actually billed. With the second POC I was shown when it went to D1 it is under the FFP and about $1800 higher than what the EP price is now. So definitely happy.

Received another update this morning from Sandi at Mark Dodge - my MC is scheduled to arrive at Port Allen, LA tonight with an ETA of 9:04 p.m. It departed on 10/25 and the original estimated arrival date/time at Port Allen was 11/4 at 9:47 a.m. Based on a previous post, I think @BrentD86 's truck may be on this same train.
Nice! Travel buddies. Here’s hoping our trucks catch one of the states 5 transport drivers eye and get on an early load.

Good article explaining what was done a couple of years ago. A few pages back, someone posted an article showing the differences between HO and SO. I thought it showed the HO going up to 19:1 compression. This may be how they got higher numbers in HP and torque. Does anyone know for certain if there was any other major changes to the engine/drivetrain?

In the discussion on clear coating. I'm uneducated in this department. What is involved, what is the advantage/disadvantage?

That makes sense - According to Sandi, there may be additional delays with unloading and delivery from Port Allen to Mark Dodge. I tagged @BrentD86 hoping he might have additional info or updates.
From what I have been able to gather sandi says there are only 5 truck drivers so it may take up to 3 weeks to go from the final rail yard to the dealership (im sure she told you this as well).

I think she is giving a safe buffer zone to keep our expectations in line. Most people getting delivery from mark dodge find their trucks get to the dealership in less that 14 days with most of them arriving in 7-10 days.

Personally I am hoping to hear from Mark dodge around Monday or Tuesday the 15th or 16th

Mine has been sitting on a rail car just outside the port at port allen for a couple days now. Hopefully it will get in today and get unloaded to get on a transport for Mark Dodge.

Mines still sitting on a truck. But just parts waiting to be built. Have a build date of tomorrow. But as the song goes, Tomorrow, Tomorrow never comes. Come on Vin 3C63RRHL0NG163053 hit the line. Become a truck for the first time!
