MOPAR - MAXCARE - Zeigler - Extended Warranty Merged Mega Thread

There are a few of these online, they are just dealers selling Chrysler warranties for good prices. I've tried to get last few dealers to match their price but none have, so I just wait a little bit and buy it from zeigler. For the original 3/36 warranty it helps because it ensures I get a rental.
What is that about the rental? Do you get that with the Zeigler or with the manufacturer's?

Considering that most of your standard warranty ends in 3 years and i generally get at least a 4-5 year loan i want some help if things began getting sour. Everything is so expensive these days just one covered breakdown could easily pay for the extended warranty.
Just don't fall for the non-factory warranties that dealers often try to peddle and do shop around for real factory plan, max care in the case.

So it seems no one (at least those who have chimed in) has had to actually use their MaxCare yet? I never buy warranties, but this truck was so damn expensive it made me think twice. I used a Zeigler quote when my dealer hit me up with the warranty pitch. Although it is probably money wasted, It made me feel better this time to get it. It's definitely the "personal" part of personal finance. The math would say walk away every time.

I could have used it on my 16my 1500 a few years back. I was hit by the dreaded cp4 failure. Nearly 7k bill. BUT the technician allegedly found water in the fuel so all warranty denied, both standard and max care, both have specific exclusions for bad fuel.
Despite that, still bought max care on my latest truck. Numerous other potential time bombs on these complex beasts. A friend just had his turbo crash on his 17my.

That's why I keep all my receipts. As noted by several people on here if you keep your receipts and the dealer claims contaminated fuel then you can try and get the fuel station to pay for it.

What do you have to do in order to maintain the warranty? Do you have to have it serviced so many times a year, follow the recommended maintenance, etc.? Looking at the service schedule, it doesn't look like there is much to it in the first 75k miles (which is the duration I would consider) besides changing the oil. I will probably do that myself, or considering I will probably put on less than 5,000 miles per year and will only need it change it once per year, I might have the dealer do it. Is that enough though to just keep a receipt for oil to keep the warranty from being voided?

I look at it as additional insurance on a big investment. for 3k or less, you get a small deductible and a loaner/rental while its being fixed (as well as a bunch of other extras). Something stupid like a 12" radio goes, its already paid for itself. These things have gotten way to technical and have too many electronics that need to run right for the truck to operate correctly. Worth the "gamble" for me for sure.

When I bought my 2015, it was before I knew about any of these things. The dealer wanted $4500 for an extended warranty. No thanks. At the price of this one, I’ll definitely invest when the 2022 shows up.

About to take delivery of a 2022 Big Horn with Cummins. Is it worth paying for an additional warranty? Any advice?

If you don't plan on keeping it past the standard warranty I would say no . It is basically a crap shoot. I had one minor issue in 5 yrs that I used the extended warranty on . My son has had it another almost 2 yrs with no issues a warranty ( if he had one) would cover . So ... in 8 model years one warrantable incident. Others have had worse luck and you can always delay buying it for a couple of years though they will charge you a bit more. Roll the dice !

I’m way out from considering financing at this point, but I do use USAA normally. I have considered using Navy Federal and just stretching it out to their 96 mo loan. I guess it’s always time to play with numbers to find what’s best.

I’ve seen posts on warranties too, is Ziegler the one to go with?

Seems like Ziegler is the one to beat. Factory MOPAR warranty. Best price so far. Dealer said they’d match the price before discount, but couldn’t do the additional $395 off with PAYINFULL discount code.

My dealer didn’t offer the Mopar version? I had printed out the Ziegler price off the internet with discount. They tried to give me a different company one at same price , I said no thanks.

I got 1.89 for 63 months through USAA. It went up to just over 2.00 if you went to 72 months and over 3.00 for 84. Im gonna pay it off in less than a year so made sense to just take the lowest rate.

Dealer said they could not match the 1.89.

Also said they could not match Ziegler warranty quote. We’ll see when we get there.
My dealer could not match Zeigler warranty quote, but they adjusted truck price down an equivalent amount so net out the door was same as if the warranty cost was same as Zeigler quote.

In my opinion, if you want extended warranty, MOPAR factory warranty is the only way to go - not aftermarket junk some dealers try to sell.

Zeigler sells the MOPAR factory MAXCARE as well as other MOPAR options (Tires, etc) (and Ford plans) = same as what dealer offers if its MOPAR factory warranty. Easier to include with original purchase but Zeigler adds (subtracts) a discount if you use code PAYINFULL when you get quote from Zeigler.

For Example Dealer quote on Longhorn Megacab Diesel for 8yrs / 85k miles MAXCARE with $200 deductable was $1925 ($2860 list) but with discount code at Zeigler, same MOPAR MAXCARE warranty was $1560 - in my case dealer had to sell warranty at $1925 and adjust truck price down $365 to "match" the Zeigler quote, but they did that without much resistance.

Above for Diesel - Hemi is different - did not research Hemi. Options include $100 or $200 deductable and varying years and mileage limits but most common seem to be 7 or 8 years and 85-125k miles (no unlimited miles on Diesels). Look closely at options - miles make more difference than years and in one case 8 yr / 85k is cheaper than 7 yr / 85k by $40
