This is really Mopar approved and legitimate?
Mopar Direct
Yes, it is the Mopar Maxx Care. But make sure you price from Ziegler as mentioned in post #2 or from Tom Winkle at Hayes Jeep in Kalamazoo.

Too bad they no longer offer the lifetime warranty or if I could get an extended warranty purely based on miles I would do it since I don't put a lot of miles per year on my truck.

Keep in mind all the extended warranties base the years and miles off the original sold date and total miles.

Same here, I would go the longest years available with the MaxCare since I am only at 10,500 miles in 18 months. I think that there is a 8 year 100K or 120K option in the MaxCare plan list. First I need to decide if I am keeping this truck past 2 years or not. With the unavailability of trucks at the moment, I am sitting still and waiting. There are no 3500 SRW trucks set up with all the options like I want. You can buy all the low end trucks and all of the super high end trucks you want... but that middle sweet spot like I have now is pretty much a unicorn.

I want a gas 3500, long bed, 4.10, crew, BigHorn Level 2, sunroof, power rear window, heated seats and steering wheel, dual zone climate control, front and rear park sensors, third brake light camera, 20" wheels, 5th wheel prep, cab clearance lighting, LED head and tail lighting, white paint job and sport package (NO CHROME!), Uconnect 8.4 with the phone app support, Alpine stereo, bed sprayed from the factory, bed LED lighting, bed step... and night edition optional. No OEM leather. Find me the unicorn and I'll start twitching....

Hello! While our team cannot speculate on the content of the email you received, if you are still interested in a MVP plan we recommend again either discussing it with your dealer or contacting the MVP plan line previously listed.

Have never bought one of the extended warranties. As I understand it they don’t even go into effect till the 3year/36,000 mile expires. Why would you pay upfront for this? Plus there is the 5year/100,000 mile warranty on drive train. Same thing with the other stuff they try to sell ya…undercoating, paint protection, etc. I just tell them no,no,no. But if it gives you a warm fuzzy feeling go for it.

I too was always against extended warrantees until my son bought his 2018 ram 2500 a couple months ago. His radio stack went out, $4500 was the dealer quote supposedly, anyway, $200 deductible and it’s covered. That more than paid for his warranty. So it is like playing the lottery, but all the electronics in these trucks(lots of Chinese components, I am sure) makes me reconsider.

Yeah..if I had the CP4 I might consider it.

I purchased the extended warranty when I got my 2021 2500 Cummins. $1100 for 7yrs or 100,000 miles bumper to bumper through Allstate. It has a $200 deductible and the dealer told me that I can take it to any Allstate authorized facility to have a repair done does have to be the dealership. This is my first diesel and I know repairs can be costly so I figured I’d cover myself since I drive 15-20k per year and would burn through the factory 3yrs or 36k pretty quick.

I will start by saying I never buy an extended warranty for anything unless it seems worthwhile (for example, I bought a warranty on a $5,000 appliance package for $200 that will bring it out to 7 years). I always like to fix things myself, but a lot of that is not possible anymore with electronics so I figure $200 was a small price for that. I guess I have been lucky over the years with everything else because I have found that stuff either breaks right away under warranty, or lasts a long time so I never would have gotten to take advantage of any warranties if I had bought them. With the new truck, of course I declined the warranty offered by the dealer that turned out to be more than $4k. Looking on the forums here though, I see a lot of talk about the Zeigler warranty and looked into it. I will not be putting many miles on this and have actually averaged under 5,000 miles per year over the past 10 years on the truck that this replaced so some of those lower mileage plans seem like they might be worth it. The 8 year/60k would be $1055 after the payinfull discount and even the 8 year 85k would be $1350 for the $200 deductible. Do these really basically cover EVERYTHING? It sounds like it covers everything (except wearable parts). I have been lucky in my last two vehicles over the past 20 years with the only major thing going out in both of them was the AC, but what worries me about this truck is all of the electronics, the screen, etc. that may be costly. The mechanical stuff doesn't worry me as much because I know I maintain it, but that other stuff can be beyond my control. I would just like some comments on this because for the price being so much lower than what the dealer offers, I just want to make sure it is as good as it sounds.

Im a skeptic.. however id love to be proven wrong. ....in for info.

I am like you and don't buy extended warranties. This truck gave me pause to rethink that though with the electronics and emissions. I decided it was insurance more than an extended warranty! The dealer I bought through matched the Zeigler quote I had so I went with it.

That being said I hope I don't need to use either warranty anytime soon. That is because of several people recently having issues that were covered either under the OEM warranty or extended Mopar warranty. BUT they were told nothing could be done to fix their trucks right now as the various needed parts were not available and either the dealer "did not know" when parts could be had or they were told probably 1 - 3 months, etc. etc. Now I only talked to two of these people face to face, the others were in forums like this one so take it for what it is worth or not. But it does not seem like a good time to need a truck repaired, warranty or no warranty.

The two people I talked to had these stories:

The first needed some part for the DEF system. Two local dealers did not have the part and did not think they could get it anytime soon. He kept calling and found a dealer 3 hours away who had one last one of the parts in stock. He reserved it and two weeks later drove his truck over for the fix, staying in a hotel overnight. He is lucky his truck was drivable at least.

The 2nd person was a full time RVer with a 2016 truck and an extended warranty. The truck was drinking coolant and he found out he needed a new EGR or something. But the dealer in the city in Nevada where he was staying for a month did not have the part and could not get it. Also told him even if they could get the part, the first appointment was a minimum of 3 weeks out. He found an independent diesel mechanic and when I talked to him, he had the truck fixed, much better mpg, and about 200 lbs of misc underneath parts of his truck sitting under a tarp in his bed. Desperate times call for desperate measures I guess.

I’ll be looking in to the 7year/125,000 option when my truck gets here. The VGT actuator went out on my old truck at 70,000 and they claimed it was emissions (60k warranty), so that was an out of pocket expense. The transmission solenoid pack went out at 100,500. Luckily they made an exception and took care of that one for me.

It's not a "Zeigler" warranty, it's FCA Maxcare. Same plan the dealer will try to get 4x the price.

Use the Zeigler price to negotiate with the dealer. I got them to beat Zeigler by $100.

Well, too late for that, already have the truck. But yeah, I guess it is more like insurance. I guess at least I would not have to worry about much for 8 years. Does anyone know how soon you need to buy it? It looks like you can buy it anytime as long as your current warranty is still in effect, but I would imagine the price goes up the longer you get away from it being new.

There are a few of these online, they are just dealers selling Chrysler warranties for good prices. I've tried to get last few dealers to match their price but none have, so I just wait a little bit and buy it from zeigler. For the original 3/36 warranty it helps because it ensures I get a rental.

My dealer matched the zeigler price at the time of purchase. I did buy a zeigler warranty for my Focus electric and have already used the warranty.

Dealer wanted over $3k and less coverage. I went with Ziegler for half that and more coverage. It's Mopar MaxCare with over 5000 parts covered. It makes me feel.....a little better.
