AAM Awarded Ram Heavy Duty Axle Contract Through 2030:

Will Include Both Heavy Duty Pickups & Chassis Cab Models:

American Axle & Manufacturing (AAM) has announced that it has secured production for the next-generation axle and driveshaft program for Ram’s next-generation of Heavy Duty pickups and Chassis Cab trucks. The Detroit-based manufacturer stated in a press release on Friday. It will continue to be a Ram strategic driveline supplier through 2030.

“AAM is pleased to continue our long-term partnership with Ram as the supplier of axles and driveshafts for the 2500 and 3500 Heavy Duty pickup trucks. We look forward to providing our latest and most efficient driveline technologies as Ram’s strategic supplier for the next-generation of this key vehicle program,” said David C. AAM says that it expects that current and future sales related to the program will exceed several billion dollars over the lifetime of the contract.

Currently, the front and rear axle on the Ram 2500 and 3500 have been engineered to improve durability, handle industry-leading payload and towing capabilities, and minimize Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH), as well as take advantage of opportunities to optimize weight. The Ram 3500 is offered with a larger 12-inch AAM rear axle to handle its class-leading power and capability.
