RECALL: Ram Trucks Brazil Issues Two New Recalls For Ram 2500 Laramie Pickups!
Side Curtain Airbags & Software Updates...
Ram Trucks has issued two recalls for its Ram 2500 Laramie models in the Brazilian marketplace. One recall is for side curtain airbags, while the other is about a software update for engine calibration to the 6.7-liter Cummins turbodiesel.
Ram Trucks Brazil has begun to inform owners of certain 2016, 2019, and 2020 Ram 2500s, about the possibility of unexpected deployment of the side curtain airbags. It was identified that in the event of unexpected activation of these bags, serious or fatal physical damage to the driver and/or passengers could occur, due to the possibility of a loss of control of the vehicle’s steering and possible projection of internal elements of the airbag.
The parts for those vehicles affected are already in the process of production and importation into Brazil, according to Ram Trucks Brazil. Service for those vehicles recalled is expected to start in January 2022. Those customers will be notified again to make a free repair scheduled at one of the Ram Truck dealers in the Brazilian network.

The need for this service was identified to ensure that the engine calibration strategy meets the criteria stated in the respective approval. It is, therefore, a campaign aimed at meeting regulatory criteria, without impacting on risks to the health or safety of consumers.
The software update should take around 30 minutes to perform.
Ram Trucks Brazil states the software recall affects 2,491 units with non-sequential chassis numbers (last eight digits) from KG692595 to MG598197.
Those living in Brazil and own one of these vehicles can consult the numbers of the chassis involved or obtain more information, visit www.ram.com.br or contact the Ram Customer Service Center by phone 0800-730-7060.
