Ram Trucks Australia Is Bringing The 2021 Ram 2500 To The Land Down Under:

Ram's 3/4-Ton Pickup Will Return...

Ram Trucks Australia is the sole factory-authorized importer and distributor of Ram Trucks for both Australia and New Zealand. Currently, the company is the only factory-authorized full-volume supplier of right-hand-drive (RHD) Ram Trucks in the world. The company originally launched 3/4-ton Ram 2500 in the marketplaces for both countries, before importing and modifying the fourth-generation Ram 1500 (known in the U.S. as the Ram 1500 Classic).

Ram Trucks Australia imports the trucks from that Saltillo Truck Assembly Plant in Saltillo, Mexico as left-hand-drive (LHD) models and then are remanufactured at the company’s facility in Melbourne. The truck’s chassis and body are separated before being re-engineered with an RHD-specific steering system, as well as equipped with a new dashboard that is designed, developed, and produced in Australia with RHD-specific heating and ventilation system before the body and chassis are remarried to produce the final product.

While the Ram brand has heavily updated the Ram Heavy Duty for the 2019/2020 model year, Ram Trucks Australia is now teasing that they will be bringing the updated fourth-generation Ram 2500 to the Australian marketplace.

Ram Trucks Australia posted on their official Facebook page, “At Ram Trucks Australia we’re working on evaluating, engineering, and testing new models all the time so it’s no surprise that the next-generation Ram Heavy Duty development is well underway. It’s set to join our lineup early next year so register your interest now for more information and updates along the way.” The post was accompanied by a Ram pickup that was covered by a car cover.

We expect the trucks to be configured similar to the current Ram 2500 offerings by Ram Truck Australia. HDRams.com is led to believe that the Australian market will get similar offerings to what we have shown you for Brazil. Expect a Ram 2500 only offered in a Laramie Crew Cab Short Box 4×4 configuration with the 6.7-liter CUMMINS inline-six turbodiesel and 8-speed automatic. HDRams wouldn’t be surprised to see the addition of the sporty “Laramie Night Edition” as the Brazilian market recently announced, considering that Ram Trucks Australia featured blacked-out versions of the last version of the Ram 2500 Laramie as well.

Ram Trucks Australia, expects the updated Ram Heavy Duty to debut early next year.
