Ram Launches Luxury Chassis Cab Model Trim For 2019:
Limited Trim Level Now Available On Chassis Cab Models...
For the past several years, Ram owners have been asking the truck brand to offer a more luxurious offering to it’s popular Heavy Duty Chassis Cab lineup. With the truck market growing larger every year, there was a need for a Ram Heavy Duty Chassis Cab model that could provide a luxury level offering to those who need a heavy hauler to tow a $100,000 horse trailer to shows, a luxury offshore powerboat or a large car hauler for those who race on the weekends.
Well Ram has listened and with the launch of the new much more luxurious 2019 Ram 2500/3500 Heavy Duty pickups, the truck maker has decided to launch the 2019 Ram Heavy Duty Chassis Cabs with a new luxurious Limited trim level. Yes, for the first time Chassis Cab buyers can option their 3500/4500/5500 Chassis Cab truck with the same options that the top-level Ram Heavy Duty pickups have.
The standard engine in the 2019 Ram 3500/4500/5500 Chassis Cab is the proven and potent 6.4-liter HEMI V-8 with up to 410 horsepower and 429 lb.-ft. of torque. The Ram 3500 Chassis Cab now employs exclusive Fuel Saver Technology cylinder deactivation to increase fuel economy. When the engine is paired with the optional Aisin AS66RC six-speed automatic transmission with Power Take-Off (PTO), Fuel Saver Technology functions under light load while in stationary PTO mode to reduce fuel consumption.
In the Ram 4500 and 5500 Chassis Cab, the 6.4-liter HEMI V-8, paired with the Aisin AS66RC electronically controlled 6-speed automatic transmission with optional Power Take-Off (PTO) capability, delivers 370 horsepower and 429 lb.-ft. of torque.
A new cast-iron cylinder head builds on the new block with changes that include new exhaust valves and springs, and new rocker arms driven by a hollow camshaft, contributing to the weight savings. Changes to the Cummins Turbo Diesel also include a new oil pump and water pump with lightweight-aluminum housing.
The 2019 Ram 3500/4500/5500 Chassis Cab offers customers a trio of automatic transmissions. The efficient, smooth-shifting TorqueFlite 8HP75 eight-speed automatic is the standard transmission with the 6.4-liter HEMI V-8 in the 2019 Ram 3500 Chassis Cab. It’s also the first time an eight-speed transmission is offered in the segment.
The 2019 Ram Heavy Duty Limited Chassis Cab offers the Uconnect 4C NAV on a 12.1-inch fully reconfigurable touchscreen with tailor-made graphics for various Ram models. The touchscreen can display one application, or can be divided in half, operating two different applications at once, a 750-watt Harman Kardon Audio System with 17 speakers with 8-inch subwoofer, uses of real wood and real leather throughout the interior.
The Ram Limited Chassis Cab can also feature Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) and AEB with trailer brakes available on all trim levels.
Class-exclusive ParkSense Park Assist system provides visual and audible indications and a class-exclusive 270-degree camera system with trailer reverse-guidance view gives greater field of vision. Ram Limited Chassis Cab offers a class-exclusive cargo-view camera allowing owners to monitor the upfit and/or payload in the rear of the truck. The system also aids hookup with fifth-wheel and gooseneck hitches.
The 2019 Ram Heavy Duty Limited Chassis Cabs will be arriving in the second-quarter of 2019. Pricing will be announced a later date.
