Ram Brazil Introduces New Maintenance Plans For Its Ram 2500 Laramie:
2021 Models Begin To Arrive In Brazil...
The 2021 Ram 2500 Laramie Crew Cab 4×4 is now reaching some 50 dealers across the Brazil marketplace. While being the largest truck offered in the marketplace, the Ram 2500 continues to be a success in Brazil as it comes off a record year. For 2021, the Ram brand is now offering its Brazilian customers a new maintenance plan which can also be used on 2019 and 2020 model trucks as well.
From now on, the scheduled revisions are either annual (before they were every six months) or every 24,000 km (or about 14,900 miles) whichever comes first. It is the largest mileage range on the market and in addition, there was an 11% reduction in the total value of the revised packages. The new prices (subject to change) are as follows:
12 months or 24,000 kilometers – R $ 2,118 ($375.54 USD)
24 months or 48,000 kilometers – R $ 2,932 ($519.88 USD)
36 months or 72,000 kilometers – R $ 2,523 ($447.36 USD)
The importance of this change to the maintenance plan on the 2021 models is amplified when considering the current commercial performance of Ram 2500. Right after the truck’s best year in sales with 1,475 units sold, the 2021 calendar year has started off even stronger with 419 units during the first two-months of 2021. That is a 13% increase over the same time period last year.
“The Ram brand is in a special moment, maintaining a high bias after last year’s record sales and with a new model about to land, the 1500 Rebel”, says Breno Kamei, Director of the Ram Latin America. “And we have much more to offer, both in terms of the product and in the ever-closer relationship with our audience.”
The Brazilian market Ram 2500 is only offered in the Laramie Crew Cab 4×4 configuration. The truck comes standard with the standard output version of the legendary 6.7-liter Cummins turbo diesel, with 365 horsepower @ 2,800 rpm and 850 lb.-ft. of torque @ 1,700 rpm mated to a significantly upgraded version of the 68RFE six-speed automatic transmission. Changes designed to improve the electronically controlled transmission’s shift quality include new variable-force solenoid controls for the torque-converter clutch. A new reverse accumulator improves shift feel when placing the transmission into Park from Reverse. Drive-to-park shifts were also improved through refined hydraulic control.
The Cummins offers the highest torque offering in the country and is second in horsepower behind the newly launched 2021 Ram 1500 Rebel Crew Cab 4×4 with the 5.7-liter HEMI V8. The Cummins provides the Ram 2500 with 7.8 tons (15,600 lbs) towing capacity and a load capacity of 1,088 kg (or about 2,400 lbs).
The Ram 2500 Laramie offers a spacious and well-appointed cabin. The Laramie offers a number of standard features like a 12-inch Uconnect 4C touchscreen, 360° Surround-View camera, RamBox, Cargo Camera, Alpine Premium Sound System with 9-speakers, a subwoofer, and active external noise cancellation.
Ram Brazil offers 7 exterior colors for the Ram 2500 Laramie. Those colors include Flame Red, Granite Crystal, Walnut Brown, Billet Silver, Pearl White, Patriot Blue, and Diamond Black. Interior colors include Beige or Black. Starting pricing for the Brazilian-spec 2021 Ram 2500 Laramie is R $ 397,990 (or about $70,568 USD).
