Your gun is poop

Back before the dreaded fishing trip accident I liked to shoot distance. My local range is only 330 yards max but there is a range about 25 miles away that goes 1,000 yards. The steel plate is a six inch plate shot at 330 yards with federal 175 grain matchking with the RPR you see in the photo . It has a Leupold Mark 4 8.5-25x50 with both atlas monopod and bipod and a Timney trigger. In the front is a Colt HBAR elite with the 20 inch Stainless barrel and Leupold Mark 4 also. For CHL I have carried a Ruger LCR in .357 for years. When you carry all the time weight is everything. I use an ankle holster and with five rounds of ammo the LCR weighs in at 1 lb exactly.

Nice to see some fellow shooters on here! I have dabbled with some weapons time to time.

Targets are 1 mile shots from my DT in 6.5 SAUM. I could upload a whole bunch of goodies...

I like that rail gun, looks fun, what caliber was that chambered in? @RTillery

Nothing better than a daily driver carbine. I’ve since swapped the EOTECH for an Aimpoint CompM5–significantly better than the EOTECH, in my opinion.

For my CZ fans. Recently had the P01 “Cajunized” and slide milled for an SRO.

How are you liking your X95? have you switched the Sear pack out and upgraded it? I had to do that on my Tavor. Changed the whole system for me
I like it a good bit. Slightly on the heavy side but I balances well and slings well. I did add a riser to the eotech, found the rail too low. Did you go with the geissele pack?

Yes, but I have the older Tavor. I love it! Changed it into a more enjoyable gun to shoot. The original 11lbs trigger sucked!

@saltonbuoy reload everything minus old .22 and shotgun. Keeps busy and something to waste my money on

Awesome! Reloading is relaxing—certainly haven’t seen cost savings after the initial purchase of everything. But I’m able to be creative with load development and that makes it all worth it to me.

That's the whole journey, I'm headed out Tuesday to finalize some loads for my new 300 Norma, then .338 norms AI that I'm testing this new hydro Forming die out. Then some subsonic .308 using new powder

Let me know now, is there a good thread on gun vaults on the forum? I'm new and no haven't used the search bar!

Don't want to derail this thread, since we brought it back to life!

Since this is a truck site, there's not really a gun subforum here. With so many great gun forums, this was just a minor diversion and most firearm posts here are truck related.

@saltonbuoy @waveslayer I'm a novice reloader but love to develop rounds for a particular gun. Bad thing is takes time and that's become in pretty short supply for me the past couple years. Have plenty of ammo but several reloading components laid back as well, mostly .30 caliber magnum stuff.

Now shotgun shell reloading, I've done my share of, and then some. Back when I was a teen, Dad and I both shot trap. Sometimes on a Saturday night while the folks played cards with friends, I'd be in the next room on the reloader until I loaded a case of shells for us to burn through on Sunday afternoon. Fun times. I've still got a lot of powder, some wads and primers, just running low on lead.

Load on! And shoot!

@Blythkd1 reloading precision ammo takes a ton of time and resources. Are you familiar with the OCW test? Fastest and easiest way to get a load, plus I always get load data from previous guys and go from there. Just did some work up yesterday fine tuning my loads.

No, as I said, I still consider myself fairly novice at loading high power rounds. And yes, I defnitely agree with your remark on it being a precision process. That's part of why it takes so much time for me. I start out each round by weighing the powder on an electronic scale, a little light. Then go to a beam type scale and trickle it literally down to the last individual little piece of powder. Tedious yes, but I got my .300 Weatherby to shooting connecting shots and that's what I was after.
