Do any of you southern folks in high heat/sun climates have 70% ceramic tint on your windshield? Worth it? Any issues?

I did the light tint ceramic on my Mega Cab, and it really helped, need to get it done on my current 3500

Isn't windshield tint against the law in most, if not all States? I'd like to tint my windshield, however I don't need any issues with the police.

It is illegal. But to be pulled for barely noticable tint would be rare, although possible.

I do not, but one of my close friends does on his F250. Its awesome during the day but miserable at night! Hard to see out of when the sun goes down.

My ceramic windshield tint was almost clear, so zero issues night driving

It was a 3M film, but unfortunately, I don't remember the %

The whole windscreen usually yes but most states do allow tinting the top couple of inches. Ohio is top five inches I believe as an example. Kinda silly standard as on my jeep thatd be like half the darn window.

They have had a DOT legal windshield tint for some years now....it's an 80% ceramic film...called blue air 80.....I've had it on my cars for 8-10 years now....blocks alot of heat....highly recommended....

My cop buddies say that here in texas anything below the as-1 line that is not 100% light transmissible is illegal.

I doubt a cop would ever see an 80% film, even if you were stopped for something else. Illegal, maybe. Actually enforced, highly unlikely.

Yup. Exactly what I said in #4.

I had it done back in January. 70 on the windshield/fronts and 55 on the back/rear. From the outside it looks kind of dark, but the inside is easy to see through. Didn’t want to impact visibility at all, just wanted it for the UV/heat. I can grab you some pictures today if you want.

Xpel Prime XR Plus.

Yes please. If you can take one from inside looking through the windshield, that would be great.
Any issues at night?

One thing I would recommend, talk to your installer and see if they have any customers with the tint you’re looking to get. Maybe they’ll swing by the shop so you can see it in person.

Here’s one in the driveway this afternoon. I’ll see about getting one this evening while driving.
