What's the most annoying thing about your truck?

I did this initialyl with my truck as well. I think my brain just knows it takes 25% longer than it should now and i'm just slower getting in and out of my truck lol

I would get so frustrated every time I pulled in to my hunting spot or going to boat ramp in mornings, blinding everyone there. Thank God you can turn them off in American trucks.

I didn't realize the truck was from Canada until I pulled out the manual and it was in french, then noticed the small stickers on windows were also in french.

I know with nissan the vehicles from Canada have the climate controls in Celsius and can't be converted to Fahrenheit. Or so the dealer told me.

Definitions of "hard off road" vary greatly, but that sucks you had to do that because the feature is a great one to have.

They were indeed nice around town and wouldn’t have stayed attached to the truck through a hunting season. They took a beating early but sold anyway.

Hitting whoops at 35 mph might be hard for some whereas 60-90 mph is what I consider hard off road

My wife thinks I only have 3 guns

But, I was able to buy one of the pop down ones for like 275 off of Amazon that is a complete copy of OEM and install it in about 30 minutes easy... I mean it is really an easy DIY install for others that have the same frustration... That alone makes the bed utility package I didn't get worth it... It helps a lot. I can now get in the bed without throwing myself in frontways and heaving my leg up... Sheesh... I was eyeing those built in ones on the GM trucks and drooling there for awhile while dreaming of aftermarket rear bumpers...

I’m glad you mentioned the china clone of the oem bed step. I don’t have my truck yet but I ordered and received one from eBay for ~$220. It seems well made and looks identical to oem, except that the hardware looks to be typical stainless instead of that galvanized appearing stainless that come with the oem part.

I was glad to see a post by someone who had installed one as mine will wait in a box while I wait for my truck.

AMP's are there ready and waiting when you depart...but OEM are 900 bucks if you get em on delivery... AMP's are NOT... But, I gotta admit, so far the best money spent on after market as the wife, who complained mightily until they were installed will attest.

I know you already sold yours but maybe to help others, I thought with the OEM boards you can set them to not deploy?

For sure. Couple added bonuses on the Amps vs OEM

--Amp tuck up MUCH higher than OEM (you almost cannot see them unless you are specifically looking for them)
--because of that, more ground clearance for off roaders
--They deploy faster than OEM


Negatives -- The Amps are way too expensive. I also wish the Amps could be integrated into UConnect and the 12" display. That would be icing on the cake.

I've had AMP's on several trucks, they work ... noisy after awhile... I like the factory so far.

Again. Will it hurt them by stepping on them prior to being fully deployed
 
With the AMP boards, for 45 bucks you can install an override switch. Its only good for 30 minutes though so not sure its a big enough win for the offroad crew. As gimmie11s said they tuck up so high I bet they work for majority of people in offroad situations.

Most likely yeah.

If you are putting a couple hundred pounds of pressure on any mechanism that is in the middle of its operation, that is not good for the moving parts of said mechanism (gears, electric motors in this case).

Yes, it will over time accelerate the wear of the motor and moving parts in the steps. Obsessed Garage has a video about it from his Raptor that actually failed after going through a couple years of that.
