The guard looks great. Been thing about a Rancher guard. What make is yours and are you satisfied, strength-wise, with how it mounts? Finally installed my brushguard.
It's a Steelcraft brand. Seems pretty stout. I have already had a few close calls with deer while driving to work so I figured this was a little extra insurance. I had a Ranch Hand guard on my chevy before this and it seemed just as good. The guard looks great. Been thing about a Rancher guard. I only paid $420ish dollars and did the install myself. The lower brackets are very strong and beefy.Thanks.
I have a Ranch Hand on my 2016 1500 Eco and like it a lot. Had one on my 2006 Ford F350 6.0 also.
When I looked at their mounting system on a 2020 3500 I was not impressed.
I was impressed with the Rancher and Steelcraft mounting system but Steelcraft was new to me. Yours looks great on the truck. Glad to hear the mounting is stout.
Great! That was a big Ranch Hand turn off for me. And their flimsy brackets over the bumper was also.No trimming required like the Ranch Hand?
I am asking the question. I saw that ranch hand requires some trimming. I am seeing what else is available.Great! That was a big Ranch Hand turn off for me. And their flimsy brackets over the bumper was also.
IMO the Rancher has the strongest mounting system, Plus their bottom bar is a flat step, can step up in front of the engine compartment and easily mount lights on it. But it's priceyI am asking the question. I saw that ranch hand requires some trimming. I am seeing what else is available.
No trimming required to fit this on. The lower bar covering the license plate is the right height for a step to get into the engine bay.IMO the Rancher has the strongest mounting system, Plus their bottom bar is a flat step, can step up in front of the engine compartment and easily mount lights on it. Yep! It definitely is the best bargain. It's currently on Amazon for 450.00, only 30.00 more than you paid.No trimming required to fit this on. The lower bar covering the license plate is the right height for a step to get into the engine bay.
I looked at multiple brands but for the $$$ it seemed like this was the best deal.
I did go look and the lower center part of the grille does come off in case it interferes with a camera.
Glad to hear someone had the same frustrations I had, a real pain in the ass. I bent a wrench to get those air dam bolts next to the license plate area out. Be sure to get the bar adjusted to your liking before putting everything back together. Finally got around to installing the first of my Baja Designs Light. This is the front hidden bar. https://www.bajadesigns.com/products/Dodge-Ram-2500-3500-19-On-20-Bumper-Kits.asp
Not done yet. It's been a real PITA. About 8 of the fasteners require you to be a leprechaun. If I didn't have a pretty well equipped shop, and both metric and SAE normal and stubby gear wrenches, it would have been even worse. Going to wire them to the aux switches.
My Wife's 1500 came with one. They work well! Its the Mopar OEM step.

I was really interested in this kit, but it better be really good considering the price. I hope you let us know how it it is once completed and really curious about the same question Wmhjr asked. Finally got around to installing the first of my Baja Designs Light.
