My brother has those on his Tacoma and likes them.

I was wondering, what happens if you are off-roading and need to stop and get out with a rock or log under your door?

Does the step try to deploy, hits the object, then automatically retract?

When I lived in Alaska, a buddy of mine had issues with ice packing up around and freezing his Amps in place and they wouldn't extend.

With the OEM steps you can disable them from Uconnect. I do it whenever I find myself in rocks. I’d hope the aftermarket ones have a way to do something similar.

Amp offers a switch that will manualy retract or extend or auto mode.

I've wondered about that, which is one reason I got the Extreme as they are dual motored on both boards.

I just unplug mine whenever I need the extra clearance. Or if I'm working under the dash.
