I'm receiving alot of mail from Mopar and ram offering an extended warranty. Anyone get these are they worth it?? I'm not one to buy warranty but the electronics scares me on these lol..... They don't offer just a electronic warranty. Suggestions?? Opinions??? Are they legit from manufacturer??

I am not a fan of extended warranties. You spend all that money on "insurance" and it seems like they always find a way to say "that's not covered". I get a lot of emails telling me "this is the last chance to lock in this price" and such. I don't believe that for a second. I'll be getting those sorts of emails for years, and it will never be a good idea to buy in.
I guess I can't speak to their legitimacy, but you also asked for opinions!

Thank you I don't like them either but this is money back guarantee if I don't use it which i liked.. anyone with experience/past encounters

That changes the stakes a bit as long as they are legit. I honestly didn't read enough of any of the offers to see if that was the case. The dealership pushed hard to get me to add on their extended warranty. It was going to add $7K to my purchase price...Hard no. Theoretically at least, I could just leave 7K in the bank to use for unexpected repairs.

I would only get one from mopar/manufacturer one not a third party f thouse. They are offering ones from 5 year to 8 year with different mileage ranging from $ 2000-4000.

I would second only getting the MOPAR warranty if you are going to go that way... also realize that the extended warranty run concurrent with the standard warranty.
I had the 'unlimited' mileage plan on the 1500 I sold to get the 2500...that plan is not offered for the 2500 or I'd consider...

I agree with Gondul, the MOPAR warranty is way to go - if I had a Cummins.

That said Sawboss3 makes a good point; you can “self-insure” by putting that money in the bank. If you ever need it, it’s there. If you trade or have good luck, that’s found money!

Watch the fine print on those that promise a refund. I purchased an extended factory warranty on my Touareg TDI thinking I’d keep if forever. Six months later we upgraded the travel trailer and needed a bigger tow vehicle. Went back to VW for the refund and found out it’s “pro-rated”. I did get the majority back but it wasn’t 100%.

I got the extended bumper to bumper warranty for my 2020 3500. Only cost 2800. I’m usually against this sort of thing so we’ll see if it pays off. It took my bumper to bumper from 3 yrs 35000 to 10yrs 140k miles.

Added 24$ to my monthly bill.

I got mechanical breakdown insurance from Geico. It is dirt cheap, but you have to sign up for it when you get the new vehicle. I think I pay $12 a month for it now. It can go up with time. Right now it buys me nothing because I am under factory warranty, but after 36K miles it may come in handy. It is 250 deductible and that is all they offer, but I think it is worth it over nothing. It does cover the electronics and center display according to an agent I questioned. You never really know until you have to use it.

That's what I'm getting quoted but only extra couple years and not near 100k I think I'm gonna bank the cash and hope for the best as to I'll prop b modifying/deleting at some point and that'll b another battle looll

I had to lemon law my ram 2500 2018. So I guess I let my previous experience weigh on my decision to buy the warranty.

I bought an 8 year 60k miles (I drive low miles) mopar max care warranty for $1010. That's with a $200 deductible.

What you bought was a 5 yr, 24K mile warranty... the extended warranty runs concurrent with the factory warranty (which is crap if you ask me)...

I'm 70 years old and have resisted extended service contracts all of my life....until I bought my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Just the price of replacing the durned radio in the thing scared me so I bought the MaxCare Lifetime. Then along came the 8.4AN radios so I bought the Lifetime MaxCare on my wife's 2014 Grand Cherokee. I got jealous of my wife's 8 speed tranny and 8.4AN radio so I sold my 2011 and bought a 2019 Grand Cherokee.....and, since they no longer offer Lifetime, I bought the 8 year, 60,000 miles MaxCare with $200 deductible...for about half the price of buying a replacement 8.4AN. I have a 2020 Laramie with the 12" radio on order and you can bet your bippy I will be spending that $1100 to $1300 on an 8 year, 60,000 warranty on it too. As sure as shoot if I don't buy the MaxCare that radio will pop chip at 3 years and a day....or the air suspension will burn a compressor. I look at driving a $70,000 vehicle with no extended warranty like having unprotected sex....sure, you will get away with it most of the time....but it only takes once to get something Ajax won't take off. I understand the resistance to buying the extended warranty....but if you can afford it you will feel a lot less nervous when the 3 year warranty runs out.

Somewhat true. I still think it's worth a grand to know I shouldn't have any major out of pocket expenses for 8 years instead of possibly 3 years. On my '14, the NOX sensor went out at the 5.5 year mark with 28k miles. Dealer wanted $2100 to replace. I got lucky and bought a Dorman and did it myself for $350. Also, my rear main seal went out at 5.5 years. The dealer wanted $2800 for that one. I got lucky and got it done for $500. Anyhow, that's $4900 in repairs right there.

You paid a good price. When I bought my warranty @8yr/125K I didn't do my research and ended up paying $3800. Still worth it in my opinion when you start pricing out what parts for these stupid things cost. If I'm wrong, I've blown $3800 on worse things in my lifetime.

I said no a couple times. Really didn’t want to buy it. But he got the cost down and only added 24$ per month to my bill. Figured it was worth it.

I did. I bought the mopar one and based on my
Driving I did a 4 year 125k warranty. The big info monitor concerns me so I figured why not. I think I paid 2500 for it. This was after I bought my truck. But I may be trying to claim a lemon law on my truck
